Weber Workshops EG-1 burrs – Core and Ultra (DB-2)
The EG-1 was developed around its burrs. That's why there are several burr sets, each enabling a different grind profile with near-zero retention. Here you'll find the two main sets, as a replacement or to swap between.

Core and Ultra compared
The Core (DB-1) is the balanced all-rounder and shipped with the EG-1 Mk.3. According to Weber, the new EG-1 (October 2026) is available with either Core or Ultra fitted at the factory. The Ultra (DB-2) is Weber's burr set designed for more separation and clarity in the cup. Both work with near-zero retention.

Which set suits you
The Core is the familiar factory configuration. If you'd like to shift the character of the grind deliberately towards more clarity, have a look at the Ultra (DB-2). According to Weber, the Ultra is made for filter coffee and is not suitable for espresso. If you have questions about choosing or swapping, our team is happy to help during business hours.

Frequently asked questions
Which set is fitted in my EG-1?
The EG-1 Mk.3 shipped with the Core (DB-1). According to Weber, the new EG-1 (October 2026) is available with either Core (DB-1) or Ultra (DB-2) fitted at the factory. Both sets are also sold separately.
Can I change the burrs myself?
Swapping them is intended and takes careful work; on the EG-1 up to Mk.3, adjustment afterwards is part of it. On the new EG-1 (October 2026), according to Weber, Intrinsic Alignment means no manual alignment is needed after a burr change. If you're unsure, our team will help you.
How do Core and Ultra differ?
The Core is the balanced standard; the Ultra (DB-2) is designed for more separation and clarity.
Do the burrs fit the new EG-1?
Yes. Weber offers the Core (DB-1) and Ultra (DB-2) as a second set when you buy the new EG-1 (October 2026) and lists the EG-1 burrs as an accessory on its product page.
Roastery tip
After a burr change, new burrs need a few runs to bed in – go ahead and grind through the first doses and readjust the grind size before you judge the shot. That's our recommendation, one of many.
