The EG-1 was developed around its burrs. Accordingly, there are various burr sets that enable different grinding profiles with almost zero retention. Here you can get the two central sets as a replacement or for switching.

Core and Ultra compared
The Core (DB-1) is currently supplied with every EG-1 and is the balanced all-rounder. The Ultra (DB-2) is Weber's burr set, designed for more clarity and separation in the cup. Both operate with virtually zero retention.

Which set is right for you?
The Core is the familiar factory setting. If you want to shift the character of the grind more towards clarity, take a look at the Ultra (DB-2). Our team will be happy to help you with questions about selection and replacement during business hours.

Which set is installed in my EG-1?
Current EG-1s are supplied with the Core (DB-1). The Ultra (DB-2) is a separately available set.
Can I change the burrs myself?
Changing them is intended, but requires careful work and subsequent adjustment. If you are unsure, our team will be happy to help.
What is the difference between Core and Ultra?
The Core is the balanced standard, the Ultra (DB-2) is designed for more clarity and separation.
Roastery Tip
After a burr change, new burrs need a few cycles to run in – feel free to grind the first few doses and readjust the grind before evaluating the shot. This is our recommendation, one of many.
