Weber Workshops Blind Shaker – dosing and shaking tool for 58 mm
You grind straight into it, put the lid on and give it a short shake. The grounds spread out, static drops, and nothing lands on the counter. Then you set the shaker on the 58 mm basket and let the grounds fall into it.
The Weber Workshops Blind Shaker is a tool for homogenising and redistributing for 58 mm baskets, made of anodised aluminium. Coffee Coaching Club is the official Swiss importer of Weber Workshops. Available online and in Bern and Zurich.

Features of the Blind Shaker
Built for 58 mm baskets
According to Weber Workshops, the Blind Shaker helps reduce static, lessen channelling and increase extraction yield with every shot. The inner surfaces are polished smooth with a proprietary process, so hardly any grounds stick and little brushing out is needed.
Build quality
Made of anodised aluminium. All inner surfaces are polished smooth with Weber's own process so that the grounds do not stick.
Why shake?
According to Weber, shaking reduces static, lessens channelling and increases extraction yield. It also brings order to the workflow and keeps the grounds off your work surface.
Magnet for self-centring
A magnet sits in the bottom of the stem. It centres the shaker on the grinder plate of the EG-1 and the Key, and on the rear right rest of the EG-1 base.
The details in everyday use
Cleaning
Clean only with warm water and a cloth. Not in the dishwasher, no abrasive or harsh cleaning agents.
Compatibility with other grinders
The magnet is fitted with the north pole facing up, which is the usual standard. Grinders with the south pole facing up, such as Varia, Timemore or Zerno, need the version without a pre-installed magnet. We carry both versions in our Weber Workshops Collection.
Shaking and WDT
The two complement each other: shaking distributes the grounds and takes away static, then the needles of a WDT tool loosen any remnants right in the basket. Whether you use one of them or both is up to you. No espresso police, our opinion is one of many.

Blind Shaker or Blind Tumbler
The Blind Shaker has a lid and is built for 58 mm baskets. According to Weber, the Blind Tumbler is designed for 58 mm and smaller 49 mm baskets. You will find both in the Weber Workshops Collection.
Who the Blind Shaker is made for
For everyone who single doses on a 58 mm machine and wants to distribute the grounds before tamping. With the EG-1 or Key it centres itself, on other grinders it serves as a dosing cup. Every coffee path is welcome.
What goes with it
WDT: for everyone who wants WDT affordable and precise, there is the Normcore WDT Tool in the Normcore Collection. If you want more, you will find the Weber Workshops Moonraker. Tamper: the affordable Normcore Spring-Loaded Tamper, or alternatively the Weber Workshops Tamper, both in our tampers.
Grinders: for everyone who wants to grind affordably and precisely, there are the Varia VS3, Comandante C40 and Timemore. If you want more: Varia VS6, Weber Workshops EG-1 or Option-O Lagom, all in our coffee grinders. You will find more accessories in our barista equipment, and our advice tool helps you find your way.

Tip from the roastery: What usually goes into our shaker is Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight, full-bodied and sweet. If you are looking for maximum body without acidity, go for Very Nutty. For the curious with a taste for fruitiness, there is Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
