The lid settles onto the hopper with a full, muffled sound, and the beans beneath lie quietly in the dark again.
That's the real point of this part. Coffee contains more than 800 compounds – more than wine – and a large share of them are volatile. What greets you when you open the hopper is exactly this volatile part. A lid that closes properly keeps it where it belongs for longer: in the beans.
The lid is made of high-gloss polished stainless steel. It picks up the look of the other stainless steel parts on ECM grinders and machines – and it feels different: cooler, heavier, with a different sound as you put it on. Design and feel influence enjoyment before the first sip, and dopamine is released while you're still anticipating. Reaching for the hopper in the morning becomes part of the experience.
Nobody needs a stainless steel lid. You want one – or you don't, and both are completely fine. If you want it, you know why. Our opinion is one of many.
The lid is designed for the 500 g bean hopper of the ECM 64 series grinders. ECM also offers a separate stainless steel lid for the coffee funnel of the V-Titan 64 – that's a different part. If you're not sure which hopper sits on your grinder, send us the grinder's item number and we'll check before shipping.

For everyone with an ECM 64 series grinder who wants to swap the standard lid for stainless steel – for the joy of the look, for the feel, or because a replacement is needed.
And for everyone who sees their grinder as part of the counter, not just an appliance. No budget is just a beginning here: an affordable setup grinds just as honestly as an expensive one, and a lid changes nothing about that – except how it feels when you reach for it.
If you're working on your grinder right now, you'll find the right parts in our coffee grinder accessories and spare parts, and the hoppers themselves in bean hoppers and storage canisters.
A coffee scale is also worth having, so the dose leads rather than gut feeling: compact, precise and affordable from Normcore, with app, Bluetooth and flow-rate display from Acaia. And if the grinder itself is due: among our coffee grinders, the Varia VS3 and the Comandante C40 are there for anyone who wants precise, affordable grinding, and the Varia VS6, the Weber EG-1 and the Option-O Lagom for anyone who wants more. Burr sets are like engines in cars: subjective, there's no single best.
It's designed for the 500 g bean hopper of the ECM 64 series grinders. Because ECM has made several hoppers over the years, send us your grinder's item number if in doubt – we'll check before shipping.
Coffee contains more than 800 compounds, and the volatile ones among them are preserved for longer when the hopper is closed. A well-fitting lid keeps what you smell when you open it in the beans for longer.
Stainless steel, high-gloss polished. It picks up the look of the stainless steel parts on ECM grinders and machines.
No. This lid is designed for the 500 g bean hopper of the 64 series. For the 54 range, ECM offers its own hoppers with their own lids.
Yes. You can see our range in person in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. If you order online, delivery takes 2 to 4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
What's in the hopper matters more than the lid on top. For dense, aromatic, full-bodied cups we recommend Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight – caramel, chocolate, nut and a long finish. Very Nutty gives maximum body without acidity, and if you fancy something fruity, Wild Peach is a lively discovery. Our recommendation, one of many.
