Mahlkönig Bean Hopper Adapter – EK43
The Mahlkönig adapter 707558 connects the EK43 to the 0.25 kg, 1.2 kg and 1.8 kg bean hoppers. Original spare part, available in Bern and Zurich.
Mahlkönig offers the adapter for the EK43 allround grinders. According to Mahlkönig, the short 250 g hopper fits the EK43 and EK43 S directly from serial number 908658. Older EK43 grinders need this adapter to use it.
Why a smaller hopper
With fewer beans in the hopper, less is left behind when you switch coffees. That suits single dosing: weigh the dose, grind, move on to the next bean.
Grinding is done by weight, not by time. A ratio of 1:2 is a good starting point, and you dial in each new bean from there. Every shot still stays unique, because the bean and the humidity change every day, and so do you.

For anyone with an older EK43 who wants to switch to one of the current Mahlkönig hoppers, in a café or at home. Some prefer to stay with the large standard hopper. Both are valid choices, our opinion is one of many.
