What is the difference between the three matcha sets in the range?
All three contain Matchawan, Chasen and Chashaku made from natural materials. The Sakura Set comes in cherry blossom pink and additionally includes a chasen holder. The Traditional Set is geared towards the Chanoyu ritual. The Green Set is the reduced, natural model – color and form follow the matcha itself.
What water temperature for matcha?
75–77°C – boiling water destroys delicate aromas and creates bitterness. A kettle with temperature control like the Varia AURA FLUX reaches this temperature directly.
Why is the ceramic bowl 400ml?
400ml is the traditional size of the Matchawan for usucha – the thin matcha. It provides enough space for the chasen to create an even foam layer without splashing. For koicha, the thick matcha, less water is used – the bowl is the same.
How do I care for the chasen without a holder?
Rinse with lukewarm water after each use – never in the dishwasher. Let it dry lying on a clean cloth so that the fine bamboo prongs retain their shape. If you want a holder, you can find it separately or in the Sakura Set.
