The small connection that keeps the group sealed
The adapter connects two water-carrying components on the brew group of the GB5. It is made of stainless steel, is constantly under brew pressure and is therefore often overlooked during an overhaul – until it turns out to be the part that drips.
A typical sign is a damp film on the thread that disappears briefly after retightening and is back two weeks later. In most cases the sealing surface is then warped or the thread is worn out. The part number is A.2.009.01.
When it is due
- Moisture or limescale traces at the transition to the group.
- The connection only seals when tightened excessively.
- Visible grooves, notches or a damaged thread.
- After an overhaul, pressure loss persists at this point.

Important for installation
The part sits in a pressurised line inside the machine. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions for it. The machine must be depressurised and cooled down, and the replacement belongs in the hands of a qualified professional.

We wipe every connection dry after reassembly and place a piece of kitchen paper underneath. After an hour under pressure, the paper shows what the naked eye misses. This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. For dialling in afterwards, the team likes the Nutty Delight from our coffee beans.

Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. Are gaskets included?
No, the adapter is supplied on its own.
Does it also fit an FB80 or Linea PB?
Part number A.2.009.01 is listed for the GB5. Send us the model and serial number and we will check the fit.
How can I tell whether the adapter rather than the gasket is to blame?
If the spot becomes damp again after the gasket has been replaced, it is worth checking the sealing surface and thread of the adapter.
