Profitec Pro 700 Drive – Dual Boiler with Flow Control
Adjusting the water flow isn't the only option – you can also shape it during the shot: the Pro 700 Drive brings Flow Control, Fast Heat-Up and programmable times together. A dual boiler with E61 group head and rotary pump as its foundation, plus plenty of room for extraction – from Profitec, a German manufacturer based in Bammental near Heidelberg, hand-built in Germany and Italy.
Coffee Coaching Club is a Profitec partner in Switzerland. A barista course at our roastery in Bern or at the Zürich Oerlikon showroom can be booked separately – in German or English. Financing is also available for the Pro 700 Drive on request.

Flow Control during the shot
The built-in flow profile valve regulates the water flow to the group head – and can be adjusted during the shot as well. This lets you actively shape the pressure and flow curve.
Active and passive pre-infusion
In active and passive pre-infusion mode, different settings are possible to fine-tune the extraction result.
Fast Heat-Up and timer
According to Profitec, Fast-Heat-Up mode gets the machine up to temperature in around 12 to 13 minutes, instead of the usual 20. Automatic on and off times can also be programmed.
Dual boiler, PID and water
Two independently controllable boilers via PID – coffee boiler 0.75 L, steam boiler 2 L – display with brew time and other information, rotary pump, choice between water tank and direct plumbing, steam boiler can be switched on and off.

Who it's for
For anyone who wants to actively shape the shot – with real-time Flow Control, adjustable pre-infusion and temperature control. If you like to experiment and look for repeatable results, you'll find plenty of dials to turn here. No shot is exactly repeatable – the bean, the humidity and you yourself change daily, and that's exactly what makes playing with the flow profile so engaging. That's our view on espresso, one of many.
What goes with it
A precise grinder goes well with it: Varia for anyone who wants consistent grounds without much fuss, Weber Workshops for anyone after even more precision in the details. The same logic applies to scales – Normcore compact and reliable, Acaia with an app and flow-rate display. A Normcore or Weber Workshops tamper rounds out the setup, plus fresh beans like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight.

Roastery tip
Play with the flow curve: a gentle start, then open it up – and ease back again toward the end to shape the finish. Combined with pre-infusion, you can draw a lot out of light, fruity roasts like Wild Peach especially – a side note for anyone who likes to experiment. For most of us, dense, chocolatey roasts like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight remain the reliable starting point. Note down what you like. That's our recommendation, one of many.
