CHEMEX Woodneck 8 Cup – Eight Cup Classic with wood collar
You pour in calm circles, the coffee runs through the thick paper filter and collects clear in the lower part of the carafe. Brewer and server are one piece of glass.
Chemex lists this model as the Eight Cup Classic (CM-8A). The carafe is made of borosilicate glass, the polished wood collar is held by a leather tie. Capacity is 40 oz, around 1.2 l. Chemex counts one cup as 5 oz, hence the name 8 Cup.
With the carafe on a scale, you see while pouring when your brew ratio is reached. For filter coffee we usually start at around 60 g of coffee per litre of water. Our opinion is one of many, what matters is that you enjoy it.
