The Skateboard Creations knobs are made from used skateboards. Old decks are stripped of their griptape, sanded, sawn into pieces, re-glued, and turned — until what once rolled over asphalt becomes a knob for your grinder. Each pattern is unique.
The multi-layered glued skateboard wood shows fine, colored stripes created by the cross-section of the old decks. With a snap fastener, the knob is on the crank in an instant — simply attach it, and you're done. You can choose between the compact 44 mm knob and the larger 55 mm "Big Joe" knob, which offers more surface area for the hand and makes turning smoother for many.
A knob like this doesn't change anything about the extraction — but everything about the feeling. It's a small statement on the counter, a piece of recycling with character. Nobody needs it; one wants it. Our opinion is one of many.
| Material | recycled, multi-layered glued skateboard wood |
| Sizes | ø 44 mm (Standard) and ø 55 mm ("Big Joe") |
| Assembly | Snap fastener — attach and detach |
| Special feature | each piece is unique, patterns and colors vary |
| Compatibility | Comandante C40 (MK3 & MK4); 55 mm also for setups with Big Joe knob |
For everyone who wants to make their Comandante their own and enjoys materials with a history. The 44 mm knob stays close to the original, the 55 mm "Big Joe" fits more generously in the hand — both attach to the crank in seconds.
Simpler knobs made of oak and beech, as well as crank parts, can be found in Comandante Accessories and Spare Parts. The grinders themselves — from the affordable C40 to the larger C60 Baracuda — are among the Hand Grinders, and other models can be found under Coffee Grinders.
No. Each knob is made from a different skateboard, so the patterns and colors are unique to each piece. Your knob is one of a kind.
The knob attaches to the crank of the C40 (MK3 & MK4) with a snap fastener. Choose the larger 55 mm "Big Joe" if you want more surface area for your hand.
Via the snap fastener in the crank: pull off the old knob, attach the new one — completely without tools.
The 44 mm remains compact and close to the original. The 55 mm ("Big Joe") offers more contact surface, which makes turning more comfortable for many — especially for larger hands.

From our coffee roastery: A knob with character and fresh beans belong together. For a dense, chocolatey cup, most people reach for Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you like it nutty and without acidity, choose Very Nutty; for fruity discoveries, there's Wild Peach. This is our recommendation, one of many.
