Comandante central shaft – stainless steel
It sits at the heart of the grinder: the shaft everything turns around, and where the grind setting finds its hold. As an original spare part, it brings your Comandante back on track when the old shaft has served its time.
What you get here
This is the original central shaft in stainless steel for the Comandante C40. It carries the internal burr set and the click-based grind adjustment. With the standard shaft, one click shifts the grind setting by around 30 microns, and a full turn covers 12 clicks. Anyone looking for finer intermediate steps will find the alternative in the Red Clix shaft, with half the step size.
Stainless steel is durable and holds its shape – which is why the shaft is a part that rarely needs replacing, but is worth getting as an original replacement when the time comes.

Frequently asked questions
What is the central shaft for?
It carries the internal burr set and the grind adjustment of the Comandante. As an original spare part, it replaces a worn or damaged shaft.
Which models does it fit?
The Comandante C40. The C60 Baracuda has its own, larger shaft.
What's the difference to the Red Clix shaft?
The standard shaft shifts around 30 µm per click (12 clicks per turn). The Red Clix halves that to around 15 µm and doubles the click count – finer for espresso.
