Kinu M47 Phoenix – the lightest hand grinder in the M47 range
Slim and light in your hand, the crank turns smoothly, and the 47mm burr of the M47 range delivers even grounds – the most accessible way into the M47 family.
The M47 Phoenix is the lightest and slimmest version in the range. It shares the 47mm burr with the Classic and the Simplicity, but takes a more pared-down approach to construction. At Coffee Coaching Club you'll find the whole M47 family.
Same burr, pared-down build
The Phoenix also runs 47mm stainless steel conical burrs with Black Fusion coating and stepless, numbered adjustment – the same grind quality as the larger models. The hopper and catch cup are made of plastic, and the axle is held by a five-point ABS system.
Light, and ready to travel
At around 0.73 kilograms, the Phoenix is the lightest in the range and fits easily into a backpack. It goes without the self-centering axle and thumb stopper of the larger models – in exchange, it's more compact and slimmer. Ground by hand, without electricity, without heat.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Phoenix have the same burr as the other M47 models?
Yes, the same 47mm stainless steel conical burr with Black Fusion coating and stepless adjustment. It's the lightest version, with a pared-down build.
What does the Phoenix leave out compared to the Simplicity and Classic?
The Phoenix goes without the self-centering axle and the thumb stopper, using a five-point plastic system instead. This makes it lighter and slimmer.

How much coffee does it hold?
The hopper holds around 40 to 50 grams of beans, enough for about four servings of espresso or filter coffee.
Can I see the grinder before I buy it?
Of course. In our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zürich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) you can experience the grinder live. Bringing your own beans is welcome.
Roastery tip
The 47mm conical burr brings body and clarity together. For a round, chocolatey, nutty espresso, reach for Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, for maximum body without acidity Very Nutty. If you're looking for a lighter, fruitier profile in filter, try Wild Peach – explore it in small steps. That's our recommendation, one of many.
