Rocket O-ring 18 × 5 mm for the machine foot – so your Cinquantotto stands firm again
The R Cinquantotto is heavy, and that's exactly why you notice straight away when a foot gives way. The machine wobbles slightly, shifts a millimetre when you tamp, and leaves a dark mark on the worktop. The culprit is usually not the foot itself but this O-ring: it sits in the foot as an elastic pad and becomes hard and flat over the years.
One ring for a few francs, and the machine stands as if it had just been unpacked. Part number A449906954.
When it's due
When the machine wobbles or gives way when you tamp. When the rubber is visibly flattened, hard or torn. When the base leaves marks. It's best to replace all four at the same time – a single new ring will make the machine stand crooked.

Who it's for
For anyone with a Cinquantotto on a hard worktop – stone, glass or stainless steel. That's where the ring works hardest and tires first. And for anyone who moves their machine often, for example to clean behind it.
The O-rings and sealing rings in the Rocket catalogue
Rocket fits a whole range of O-rings in the steam path, water path and boiler that look very similar from the outside. For most of them, the documentation gives neither the inner diameter nor the cross-section thickness – they can only be reliably distinguished by their part number. That's why we list them individually, with the number in the title or in the table:
-
O-ring steam and water tap – A449904334

What goes with it
If you're lifting the machine anyway, renew the seals on the tap at the same time: the gasket for the steam and water tap and the O-ring for the rotary knob. To combat limescale in the circuit, the descaling pad for the water tank helps, and you'll find cleaning supplies in the cleaning range for machine and grinder. Everything else under Rocket accessories and spare parts.
Tip from our café
To replace it, we never lay the machine on its side; instead, two of us lift it just far enough to slide a wooden block underneath. Lying on its side, residual water from the boiler runs where it doesn't belong. This is our workshop routine from Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer specification. For dialling in afterwards, we use Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate for chocolatey notes and Very Nutty for maximum body. All roasts under Coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fit on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
How many do I need?
Four for one machine, one per foot. A single ring is supplied – so order the quantity you need.
Does it also fit other Rocket models?
This part is listed for the R Cinquantotto. Other model series use different feet – write to us and tell us which model you have.
Do I need tools?
No. Unscrew or lift the foot, pull off the old ring, fit the new one. No grease, no sharp tools.
My machine still wobbles.
Then the worktop is usually not level. A thin cork mat under the machine evens this out and provides extra damping.
Can I see the part in the showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
