Comandante C40 or C60 Baracuda?

C40 MK4 (CHF 258–279): Standard hand filter with Nitro-Blade burrs, classic specialty café design. C60 Baracuda (CHF 599–899): larger variant with extended burr specifications, in limited design editions. For standard hand filter, the C40 is sufficient; for premium Anspruch and collector's value, go for the C60.

Kinu for filter or Comandante for espresso – is that possible?

Both are possible, but not optimal. Kinu M47 for filter: you have to set it coarser than for espresso, the grind scale is not optimized for it – it works, but Comandante does it better. Comandante C40 for espresso: the scale is adjusted coarser, fine adjustment for espresso is limited – it works, but Kinu does it better. For dual-use: Kinu M47 Rebel (CHF 284) is explicitly optimized for both espresso AND filter.

What about burr maintenance?

With Kinu and Comandante, the burrs are individually replaceable – typically due after 5–10 years of home use. NECCST: same standard. Original spare parts are available directly from the manufacturers or via CCC.
