Sanremo YOU – Multi-Boiler Espresso Machine with Paddle and Pressure Profiles

Your hand on the paddle, your eyes on the touchscreen: the Sanremo YOU shows pressure and flow during the shot and saves what you did with the paddle as your own profile.

The YOU is the first single-group multi-boiler machine from Sanremo Coffee Machines in Treviso. The coffee and service boilers are made of AISI 316 stainless steel and insulated, and a volumetric pump enables pressure profiles. Sanremo describes it as a «Coffee Lab»: compact and built for working with different coffees.

Features of the Sanremo YOU

Sanremo YOU paddle on the brew group – Coffee Coaching Club

Adjust and save profiles

Six standard profiles with preset parameters and twelve freely configurable profiles. In your own profiles you set all three extraction phases, and pre- and post-infusion can be switched off entirely. You create manual profiles directly with the paddle.

Multi-boiler

The coffee boiler and the service boiler are both made of AISI 316 stainless steel and fully insulated. According to Sanremo, the stainless steel coffee boiler provides thermal precision and resists oxidation and limescale.

Consistent stability

Pressure and temperature are controlled electronically so that the values stay stable even after longer series of shots. Sanremo states a stability of ±0.2 °C for its TempControl temperature regulation.

Three configurations

With a water tank, with a direct water connection, or fully equipped with both options. According to the Sanremo catalogue, the tank holds 2.5 litres and sits under a lid on top of the machine.

Volumetric pump

A new-generation 24 V volumetric pump that enables pressure profiles and, according to Sanremo, works stably during profiling as well.

Energy efficiency

Two modes: automatic with up to six time slots per day, or manual, where you switch the machine or individual boilers on and off. In addition, there is a stand-by mode in line with the ErP directive and an eco mode that keeps the machine warm at a reduced temperature for a quick start.

Cold-touch wands

The steam and hot water wands are insulated and can be touched while you work.

Mixed hot water for tea

Cold and hot water are mixed instantly. According to Sanremo, this results in better chemical and taste quality for tea and herbal tea.

Care and service

A group flush at the push of a button, an automatic cleaning programme for the brew group and quick access to the internal components for servicing. The LED lighting of the work area helps in any light.

Timer and connectivity

Programmable on, off and eco times for each day, plus a rest day. For connectivity, Sanremo lists USB and Wi-Fi.

Who the YOU is made for

For everyone who wants to work with profiles: by hand on the paddle or with saved recipes, for straight espresso as well as milk drinks. Sanremo aims the YOU at baristas, roasteries and everyone who engages intensively with coffee. Whether you adjust your profiles every day or set a recipe once is up to you. Our opinion is one of many, and the coffee has to taste good to you.

For extraction, our starting point is 1:2 by weight, so about 18 g of ground coffee for around 36 g of espresso. The YOU stops volumetrically; if you work by weight, place a scale under the portafilter.

Grinders that suit the YOU: for everyone who wants affordable, precise grinding, the Varia VS3 from our Varia collection or a hand grinder from Comandante. If you want more: the Weber Workshops EG-1 or a grinder from Option-O. For scales: Normcore, compact and precise, or Acaia, with app and flow rate display. For puck preparation there are WDT tools and tampers from Normcore and Weber Workshops.

Not sure whether a multi-boiler, heat exchanger or single boiler suits you? Our advice tool narrows down the choice, and so does a free consultation appointment. If you want to compare machines directly side by side, book the espresso machine and grinder comparison in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) or Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). It is an option, not a requirement. Not every model is set up at all times, so send us the model you have in mind beforehand at [email protected].

You can buy the Sanremo YOU in Switzerland directly online in our Sanremo collection. Delivery throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 business days, Click & Collect in Bern and Zurich. Financing available. You will find the conditions for the introductory course with a machine purchase further down this page.

Everyday care

A daily backflush without detergent, and one with detergent about every 50 shots (around 5 minutes). In between, you flush the group at the push of a button. For coffee water we recommend a mineral content of 50–100 mg/l, for example with Apax Labs.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Sanremo YOU have an E61 brew group?

No. Sanremo specifies its own Sanremo brew group, on which the touchscreen sits. The temperature is controlled electronically, according to Sanremo with a stability of ±0.2 °C.

How many profiles can the YOU save?

Six standard profiles are preset, plus twelve freely configurable profiles. In your own profiles you set all three extraction phases and can switch off pre- and post-infusion. You create manual profiles with the paddle.

Do I need a direct water connection?

No. The YOU is available with a water tank (2.5 L), with a direct water connection or with both options.

How long does the YOU take to heat up?

Sanremo does not state a value. We expect around 15 minutes. With the timer, the machine heats up at the time you choose.

Do I need an app for the YOU?

No. All settings are accessible on the machine's touchscreen. For connectivity, Sanremo lists USB and Wi-Fi.

Can I see the YOU before buying?

Yes, in Bern or Zurich Oerlikon, if it is currently on display. Write to us beforehand at [email protected]. For a direct comparison with other machines, there is the bookable comparison workshop.

Tip from the roastery: For most shots on the YOU, our team roasts Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight: full-bodied, sweet, with notes of chocolate and nuts. If you are looking for maximum body without acidity, reach for Very Nutty. And if you want to discover a fruity side with a profile of your own, you will find it in Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
