Explore more →The portafilter meets the bar with a solid, short knock, the puck releases, and the coffee grounds vanish silently under the counter. No bucket in the way, no splashes on the work surface, just a clear space and the next shot already waiting. It's exactly this calm and order in the middle of the rush that makes the difference at a good coffee station.
The Square Knock Chute from our Rhino Coffee Gear Collection is a built-in chute: you fit it flush into your counter, and the coffee grounds drop straight through the shaft into a container below. That keeps the work surface clear and the floor clean.
It's made from 304 stainless steel, the same corrosion-resistant alloy that's the standard in hospitality. The knock bar is welded on the sides, not just screwed in place. That spreads the energy of every knock across the whole construction and makes the chute one of the sturdiest on the market. Every knock delivers a firm stop that lasts for years.
A rubber sleeve sits over the bar, protecting the portafilter and audibly cushioning the knock. The surrounding rubber collar protects both the counter and your fingers, and like the sleeve, can be replaced at any time. That keeps the chute looking like new for years, without having to replace the whole piece.
The small footprint is intentional. It fits almost any position on the counter and gives you the freedom to choose the catch container underneath yourself, from a small bucket to a large collection vessel. No one needs a welded stainless steel chute to dispose of coffee grounds. It's wanted for the calm it brings to the workflow. Our opinion is one of many.

A note on installation: use the product itself as a template when cutting the opening into the worktop. That way the chute ends up sitting exactly right.
For any counter you can cut a shaft into: a café, a coffee roastery, an office, or your own coffee corner at home with a fixed work surface. If you're pulling shots all day, you gain speed and cleanliness. If you take espresso seriously at home and have a fixed station, you bring a piece of café workflow home. No coffee path is more correct than another – this is simply an honest solution for anyone who wants to keep their surface clear.
If cutting into your counter isn't up for debate, you'll find freestanding alternatives that need no remodelling in our Knock Boxes and Drawers range.
A clean knock is part of the rhythm around grinder and machine. When it comes to grinding, you have the choice: if you want a precise grinder that's affordable, the VS3 from the Varia Coffee Grinders serves you well; if you're after the full feature package, you'll find it at Weber Workshops with the EG-1.
Tamping is also worth a look when it comes to workflow: for anyone who wants a reliable tamper that's affordable, there's Normcore from our Tamper Range; if you're after a Tamping Station with refined craftsmanship, you'll also find it at Weber Workshops — so the Knock Chute fits into a station that runs smoothly.
Cut a matching opening into the worktop and fit the chute flush. Important: use the product itself as a template so the measurements are exact. Place the catch container freely underneath.
304 stainless steel. This alloy is corrosion-resistant and easy to care for, and the side-welded knock bar makes the construction especially stable.
Yes. Both the rubber sleeve over the bar (RWKC-SLEEVE) and the surrounding rubber collar (RWKC-HUSH) are available as spare parts. That keeps the chute looking like new for a long time.

From the roastery: a clean knock is nice, and it's even nicer with beans that reward the effort. For most people we recommend Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight: full-bodied, dense, aromatic. For anyone after maximum body with no acidity at all, reach for Very Nutty. And if you like it lively and fruity, discover something for the curious with Wild Peach — that's our recommendation, one of many.
