Grip the classic steam wand safely again
The steam wand gets hot as soon as the machine is up and running – heat finds its way from the inside out. The heat shield sits right in between: a sleeve over the tube that makes the wand comfortable to grip without changing anything about how it works underneath.
In everyday use it is one of the most frequently touched parts of the whole machine. It takes heat, steam and a small knock with every cleaning, and at some point it no longer sits firmly, becomes brittle or tears. We do not know of a part number for this part: it is listed neither in our original spare parts list nor in the catalogue we otherwise take the numbers from. We do not invent one – tell us the model and serial number of your machine, and we will identify the part for you.

In our two workshops in Bern and Zurich, we check the heat shield every time a machine comes in for service – it costs little and is the part you touch most often in everyday use. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards the machine goes into a test run with a Nutty Delight or a Cozy Chocolate, and for more body with Very Nutty. No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

How can I tell that the heat shield needs replacing?
Cracks, a loose fit or noticeably more heat when gripping are the clearest signs.
Can I replace it myself?
Yes. The sleeve is slid onto or pulled off the wand, without any tools at all. Let the machine cool down first.
Does this heat shield also fit the GS3?
For the GS3 we carry a separate version. We use the serial number to clarify which one belongs on your machine.
