Markibar – Espresso Grinders from Navarra
A full morning at the café, and the grinder keeps pace without anyone having to think about it: that is what Markibar builds espresso grinders for.
The manufacturer is based in Esquíroz (Navarra, Spain) and builds for the hospitality industry. Coffee Coaching Club is the official Swiss importer of Markibar; you order grinders and spare parts directly online.
What defines Markibar
At the centre is Instant Dose: the grinder keeps the next dose ground and ready and dispenses it immediately when the portafilter is inserted, without excess. When it gets quieter, it only grinds on request. This is how Markibar combines the speed of a doser grinder with the freshness of an On Demand grinder.
In addition there are automatic portafilter recognition, thermal separation of motor and grinding chamber and, on the IZAGA, a bidirectional grind setting lock. For high volumes there are the Extreme burrs with TDC coating, developed with the Swiss manufacturer Helfezi AG and rated for around 5,000 kg of coffee.
Model overview
Markibar IZAGA W
Grind-by-weight with a scale in the doser: the dose is pre-ground, weighed and dispensed immediately. Markibar states the accuracy as ±0.2 g, and up to three doses are programmable.
Markibar IZAGA KEY and IZAGA TFT
The flagship with timed dosing, 64 mm grinding mechanism, fan and grind setting lock. The KEY has a display with membrane keypad, the TFT a touchscreen. Markibar recommends them from around 10 kg per week.
Markibar ORHI A and ORHI B
The slim café grinder with Instant Dose and fixed-mounted tamper, recommended for up to around 15 kg per week. The ORHI A recognises the portafilter automatically, and on the ORHI B you select the second dose with a button.

Who Markibar is made for
For cafés, bars and restaurants that serve a lot of espresso and want a calm, fast workflow at the grinder. Weight or time, touchscreen or buttons: a question of working style, not of quality. Grinding mechanisms are like engines, and there is no objectively best one. You can compare with the Mahlkönig collection and the grind-by-weight coffee grinders; our advisor tool for machines and grinders helps you work it out. Our opinion is one of many.
What goes with it
You will find espresso machines in our coffee machine selection. For anyone who wants a scale that is affordable and precise: Normcore. For those who want an app and a flow rate display: Acaia. Grinder cleaner is available under machine and grinder cleaning.
Frequently asked questions
Which Markibar suits me?
To dose by weight: IZAGA W. To dose by time at high volumes: IZAGA KEY with buttons or IZAGA TFT with touchscreen. Slim café grinder for up to around 15 kg per week: ORHI A with automatic portafilter recognition or ORHI B with dose selection by button.
What is the difference between ORHI and IZAGA?
According to Markibar, the IZAGA has burrs rated for around 1,500 kg from the factory instead of around 800 kg, plus a grind setting lock and fan.
Can I see Markibar grinders before buying?
We are happy to tell you in advance whether a particular model is currently set up in one of our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) or Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b). Write to us at [email protected].
Tip from the roastery: For café grinders like the Markibar, we roast beans that taste the same across many shots: Cozy Chocolate dense and chocolatey, Nutty Delight round and nutty. Very Nutty brings maximum body without acidity, Wild Peach a fruity side for the curious. That is our recommendation, one of many.
