So the group doesn't draw anything back after brewing

The anti-suction valve prevents water or air from being drawn back in the wrong direction when the pressure drops. On the Linea Micra and Linea Mini R it is a small part with a noticeable effect on what ends up in the cup and on how the puck looks.

When it wears, the coffee grounds become wet and mushy, there is a gurgling sound when you switch off, and sometimes water sits in the shower screen after brewing. The kit brings together the parts needed for this function. The part number is F.3.157.R.

When it's due

  • The puck stays wet and is hard to knock out.
  • After brewing there is an audible gurgling or sucking sound.
  • Water sits in the brew group even though the gasket is new.
  • The machine loses water from the group after switching off.

Important information on installation

The valve sits on the pressurised brew group inside the machine. We deliberately do not publish step-by-step instructions for this. The machine must be disconnected from the mains, depressurised and cooled down, and the replacement belongs in the hands of a qualified technician.

Who it's for

For Micra and Mini R owners whose puck has been staying wet for some time, and for technicians who want to deal with the issue using a kit rather than individual parts.

What goes with it

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich

When the puck is wet, we look at the valve and group gasket first and only then at the grind size. In nine out of ten cases it is down to the machine and not the grinder. That is our experience from the workshop, not a manufacturer specification. We pull our test shot with Nutty Delight – more in our coffee beans.

Returns excluded

Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick message and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
