A steam wand gets swung, dipped into the jug, pulled out again and wiped down dozens of times a day. That movement doesn't stop at the wand; it carries on into the bracket that guides it on the housing and holds it in position. On the GS3, this is a small, inconspicuous stainless steel part with part number A.5.006.
As long as it's in good shape, you don't notice it. When it gives way, you notice straight away: the wand hangs a little lower than it used to, it tips away when you swing it, or it rattles quietly when the pump starts. Then it's not the wand that's bent, it's the bracket that's worn out.
The wand no longer sits firmly and can easily be pushed out of its usual position by hand. It sags while you're frothing. The metal shows deformation, cracks or signs of corrosion. Or the bracket was bent during an earlier repair and has only roughly sat in place ever since.

The bracket sits right next to the steam line and very close to the machine's electrics. Switching off, unplugging, letting it cool down and depressurising it are essential. We deliberately don't provide step-by-step instructions here. A bent bracket gets replaced, not bent back – stainless steel won't forgive that a second time.
For GS3 owners whose wand no longer moves cleanly, and for workshops that renew the mount at the same time when replacing a wand. If you only have a leaking wand, you need gaskets rather than a bracket.
The matching wands are the non-insulated steam wand GS3 and the Pro Touch-treated wand. For resealing, use the Service Kit SA210.K; for the classic version, the repair kit SA309.R. Everything else for the machine is in the La Marzocco GS3 spare parts section.
From our workshop in Bern and Zurich: When a wand is sagging, we check the bracket first and only then the screw connection – in most cases it's the metal, not the thread. That's our own routine, not a manufacturer specification. After straightening it, we froth a jug of milk as a test and drink the cappuccino right away, ideally with Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate. If you like it stronger, go for Very Nutty; the full range is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a quick line and we'll clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. Only the A.5.006 bracket is supplied. The wands are separate items and are linked above.
The manufacturer specifies the GS3. Other model ranges have their own mounts. Send us the serial number and we'll check the fit before you order.
We advise against it. Stainless steel sheet loses strength when it's bent back and later cracks exactly where it has already given way once.
The manufacturer doesn't specify any dimensions, and we don't make any up. What counts is the number A.5.006.
Yes. We're in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Let us know in advance and we'll have it ready.
