Getting the Pro Touch wand sealed again – without replacing it
The Pro Touch wand is the part you can touch without burning your fingers. It still moves, though, and wherever something moves while carrying steam, there are gaskets. If the wand gets damp after closing or becomes stiff to swivel, that is usually where the wear is.
This service kit is the matching overhaul kit for it. La Marzocco lists it for the steam wand of the Strada and the GS3 in the Pro Touch version under part number SA210.K.
When it is due
Steam or moisture escapes at the junction between wand and machine. The wand swivels stiffly, jerks or no longer holds its position. The steam tip keeps dripping after closing. Or the machine is going in for its annual service and the steam side is being overhauled anyway.

Important for installation
The wand is connected to the steam boiler and carries steam under pressure. Before starting work, the machine is switched off, disconnected from the mains, fully depressurised and allowed to cool down. You deliberately won't find step-by-step instructions here: the wand is dismantled according to the model's service documentation, and on the Pro Touch version the insulating sleeve has to be refitted correctly, otherwise it gets hot on the outside.

Workshop tip from Bern and Zurich
This is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement: after every wand overhaul we do the dry test – machine under pressure, open and close the wand fully once, then run a paper towel around the junction. Anything damp shows up on paper straight away, but never in the steam. Then a cappuccino made with Nutty Delight as the proof of the pudding. More under Coffee beans.

Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or send us a quick message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

Is the wand included?
No. This is an overhaul kit. The complete Pro Touch wand is a separate item and linked above.
Does the kit also fit the standard, non-insulated wand?
The spare parts list assigns SA210.K to the Pro Touch version. For the non-insulated GS3 wand there is repair kit SA309.R. If in doubt, send us the model and serial number.
How do I recognise a Pro Touch wand?
In use, it stays noticeably cooler on the outside than a bare stainless steel wand. If you're not sure, send us a photo – that's quicker than any description.
