The transparent washer between metal and glass
This washer in transparent PA measures 8,1 x 14 x 1 millimetres and sits on the glass panel of the Strada. There is a reason for plastic instead of metal here: it gives slightly, spreads the pressure and keeps metal away from the glass. And because it is see-through, it goes unnoticed in a visible spot.
If such a washer is missing or has been replaced by a metal washer, hard material sits directly on the glass. That often works fine for years – and then one time it doesn't, usually when tightening the last screw.
When it is due
Replace the washer if it has cracked, turned milky or become brittle, if it has deformed under the screw, if it got lost during disassembly, or if not all washers are present when refitting the panel. Plastic ages under pressure and heat – a ten-year-old washer is not a part for reuse.

We always fit new plastic washers whenever a glass panel has been off – they cost next to nothing, and a brittle washer looks just like a good one until it breaks under the screw. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Once the panel is back on, we pull a Nutty Delight; if you like it darker, go for the Cozy Chocolate, and if you want punch, the Very Nutty. Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a trial fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.

What is the difference from washer L1003?
I.6.002 is made of transparent PA and measures 8,1 x 14 x 1 mm. L1003 is made of stainless steel A2 and measures 8,5 x 14 x 1,5 mm. Both sit on the glass panel of the Strada, but they are different items – compare material and thickness.
Can I use a metal washer instead of the plastic washer?
We advise against it. The plastic keeps metal away from the glass. Which washer belongs where is shown when you dismantle it – ask us if you are unsure.
How many washers do I need?
That depends on the number of fastening points on your panel. Our records do not state a quantity per machine; count them as you dismantle.
Is the screw included?
No. One washer is supplied. Screws and nuts are separate items.
