On the SWAN, the centring determines whether the conical burrs have the same gap all the way round. If the ring is even slightly off centre, one side grinds finer than the other. In the cup this shows up as an uneven extraction, at the grinder as a noise that was not there before.
This plate holds the ring in position during reassembly until it is screwed down. A small part, but it decides whether the burr change is a success or has to be redone.
When reassembling after a burr change on the SWAN, and whenever the grind has remained uneven after a service.

From our workshop in Bern and Zurich
We tighten the screws on the ring crosswise, in two passes, and turn the grinding mechanism by hand in between. If it feels stiffer at any point, we loosen them again and start over – our routine, not a manufacturer specification. We then dial in on a Nutty Delight, sometimes on the Cozy Chocolate or the Very Nutty. You will find the full range under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been fitted or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will check the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
We do not have a product photo for this item. We would rather show no picture than one from elsewhere that shows something different. Write to us and we will describe the part to you in detail or set it aside in the shop for you to look at.
No. It centres the ring during reassembly and does not stay in the grinder as a component afterwards.
No, only the centring plate is supplied.
We have no information on this, so we do not claim any. The only reliable reference is the part number UT371.
Yes. We are in Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and in Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Just let us know which part you need and we will have it ready for you.
