Two moves of the hand in the morning, one for steam, one for hot water, and suddenly both feel warm instead of cool.
Wood conducts heat away slowly, which is why it feels warmer under your fingers than metal, even when both are at the same temperature. Right at the rotary valves, that makes a difference, because that's where the machine works with steam and hot water. Temperature decides which compounds are released, and the ritual with which you release them is part of the experience. The limbic system links such repeated movements with memory and mood, and that's why a morning with warm wood in your hand feels different from one without.
The set consists of two rotary knobs for hot water and steam and is made for the Profitec Pro 300. The Pro 300 is a dual boiler machine with a ring group head that can also be used as a single boiler as needed, and whose brew boiler reaches temperature in under five minutes. The wooden parts are made in Germany, not stained and oiled against moisture so that the real-wood feel is preserved.
Walnut shows an evenly dark flow, olive wood a strikingly running grain. Which of the two speaks to you more is purely a matter of taste, and that's how it should be. Nobody needs wooden handles; you either want them or you don't. Our opinion is one of many, and after all, the machine is in your home.

For anyone who owns a Pro 300 and wants to give it some warmth without swapping everything at once. For anyone who likes wood on stainless steel. And for anyone who starts small and may add the portafilter handles later.
You'll find more handles and replacement handles in the portafilter handles and replacement handles collection, and the machines themselves in the Profitec collection. If you want to buy a Profitec in Switzerland, you'll find both side by side in Bern and Zurich.
A Pro 300 gets better through what stands in front of it. For anyone who wants an affordable, precise coffee grinder: the Varia VS3 as an electric grinder or the Comandante C40 as a hand grinder. If you want more burr and more fineness: the Varia VS6 from our Varia collection, the Weber Workshops EG-1 or an Option-O Lagom. Burr sets are like car engines, subjective, and there is no best one.
Add a scale, because extracting by weight ratio gets you further than extracting by time, with 1:2 as a calm starting point. For anyone who wants to weigh compactly and reliably: Normcore. If you want an app, flow-rate display and Bluetooth: the Acaia coffee scales.
This set is made specifically for the Profitec Pro 300. For the Pro 500, Pro 600 and Pro 700, we carry a separate rotary valve handle set. If you're unsure, send us your machine's item number and we'll clarify it in advance.
Two rotary knobs, one for hot water and one for steam. The portafilter handles aren't included here; they come together with the rotary knobs in the conversion kit for the Pro 300.
Walnut has an evenly dark grain flow and looks calmer. Olive wood has a strikingly running grain, and every piece looks different. Both woods are unstained and oiled against moisture.

When the machine looks new, the familiar bean often tastes different. From our coffee roastery, we recommend Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight for the vast majority: full-bodied, aromatic and dense, with caramel, chocolate and nut.
For anyone who wants maximum body without any acidity, Very Nutty is the choice. And if you're curious about a fruity side, you'll find it in Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many; other beans work just as well.
