Why you would change the handle
Original portafilter handles are usually plastic or simple bakelite. Functionally unproblematic, but often the weakest link aesthetically and haptically on an otherwise high-quality machine. A change to wood or stainless steel noticeably transforms the experience: different feel, significantly higher-quality look, and often better weight for tamping.
Specht Design (Australia) exclusively offers premium wooden handles through CCC for La Marzocco Linea Mini/Mini R/Micra and Rocket Cinquantotto/Giotto/Mozzafiato. Pesado supplies full metal portafilters with or without wooden handles in premium craftsmanship. Joe Frex and Normcore are the budget-conscious standard options.
Note thread and fit
Before purchasing, it's important to check the thread size and machine brand. Rocket R58 has M12 thread, La Marzocco has a different thread, Bezzera/Lelit ECM-Profitec another one entirely. We can help identify your machine and the suitable screw connection.
