What the bottomless portafilter offers
A bottomless portafilter removes the spouts and provides a clear view of the puck's underside. You can immediately spot channeling – preferred water paths – by bright streaks or uneven flow. This makes it a diagnostic tool for distribution and tamping: those who prepare cleanly will get an even, centered flow and a round crema in the end. The light wood handle is an aesthetic detail with a good grip.
