Superkop – manual lever espresso machine, no electricity needed
Grind the coffee, pour in hot water, pull the lever down in five or six steady strokes – and the espresso runs, with no electricity at all.
The Superkop is a minimalist, electricity-free lever espresso machine with a 58 mm portafilter. Lever and portafilter in polished stainless steel, the housing in powder-coated aluminum.
No electricity, with the 58 mm standard
Lever and 58 mm portafilter are polished stainless steel, the internal parts steel, the housing powder-coated aluminum. The polycarbonate water reservoir holds the hot water, so there's no need to preheat – fill it and pull.
The 1:40 lever mechanism
With a displacement ratio of 1:40, you build pressure gently over five to six steady strokes; the shot runs in around 25 to 30 seconds. A one-way valve with a pneumatic spring returns the lever and holds pressure between strokes, and a button releases the pressure at the end. A safety valve opens at 20 bar. The basket holds 18 grams.

Does the Superkop need electricity?
No. It runs entirely without electricity – you fill it with hot water and pull the lever.
Do I need to preheat?
No. The polycarbonate water reservoir keeps the water hot, so no preheating is needed.
