Buy WPM Espresso Cup Stand in Switzerland – Height-adjustable cup holder for the WPM Primus
The WPM Espresso Cup Stand is a height-adjustable cup holder that brings your espresso cup closer to the spout. A lower drop means less splashing, better-preserved crema, and a cleaner workflow. Official accessory for the WPM Primus .
What the WPM Cup stand is for
The WPM Primus deliberately offers generous clearance under the brewing unit – practical for tall glasses and brewing vessels. With small espresso cups, this results in a longer drop, which can lead to splashing on the scale and drip tray. The Cup Stand reduces this gap: infinitely height-adjustable, stable, and from the same manufacturer as the machine.
A point that comes up regularly in the community: The WPM Primus has a proprietary portafilter design . Standard 58mm baskets will fit, but for a bottomless portafilter, you'll need WPM's own Naked Portafilter. Good to know before investing in an aftermarket portafilter.

The Coffee Coaching Club tip: Fall height and temperature
The espresso leaves the brew group at approximately 88–96 °C. Every centimeter of free fall cools it down slightly, and volatile aroma compounds can evaporate before reaching the cup. This can be relevant for light roasts with fruity or floral notes, as these compounds are particularly sensitive to temperature.
The cup stand minimizes the distance the coffee grounds fall. Whether the difference is clearly noticeable in the cup depends on many factors – but the reasoning behind it is understandable from a physics perspective, and in combination with a good grinder and fresh beans, such details matter.
Known limitations
- Proprietary portafilter: The WPM Primus only works with WPM's own portafilters for naked espresso baskets. However, standard 58mm baskets and third-party puck screens will fit.
- No Bluetooth / no Brew-by-Weight: The Primus currently has no app connectivity and no automatic Brew-by-Weight – but the Cup Stand creates a cleaner basis for manual scale use.
