WPM KONOS – 71mm Conical Single Dose Grinder
Beans in the hopper, portafilter in the fork, choose the speed. The WPM KONOS grinds dose by dose with 71mm conical burrs directly into the 58mm portafilter and shows the speed in real time.
The KONOS comes from WPM in Hong Kong and builds on the ZP-1: easy cleaning, precise calibration, stepless grind adjustment. Added to this are Italian-made 71mm conical burrs, according to WPM possibly the only ones of their kind on the market, a speed display and a Boost button. Available in black and silver, to buy in Switzerland from us online and in Bern and Zürich.
Features of the WPM KONOS
Stepless grind adjustment
The KONOS takes up little space on the counter and covers a wide range of grind sizes. The stepless adjustment allows the grind to be set precisely for every brew method, from fine espresso to coarse French press.
Brushless DC motor with ten speed settings
WPM fits a commercial-grade motor which, according to the manufacturer, runs more quietly and delivers more torque. The speed can be set in ten steps from 150 to 420 rpm, and the display shows it in real time. The Boost button takes the motor straight to maximum speed when more power is needed. In our experience, a higher speed tends to bring more body, a lower one more aroma. That is our opinion, one of many.
71mm conical burrs from Italy
The 71mm conical burrs are made in Italy. WPM cites a very uniform grind as the basis for extraction. Burr sets are like engines: subjective, there is no objectively best one. Whether conical or flat burrs suit you better is down to your taste.
Simple workflow
The fork holds a 58mm portafilter or the dosing cup securely under the chute, so grinding is direct and clean. The knocker on the chute releases remaining grounds so the full dose arrives.
The details in everyday use
Cleaning in one step
The parts are designed for easy removal. This keeps cleaning short and the grinder hygienic.
Very low retention
Little residue in the grinder allows quick changes of bean and grind size without mixing, with little loss and without purging. An anti-static technology prevents clumping and makes for more uniform grounds.
Housing in matte aluminium
The aluminium housing is precisely made and compactly built, and it fits on any coffee counter. Besides black, the KONOS is available in silver.

Who the KONOS is made for
WPM builds the KONOS for cafés as well as for the home. It suits anyone who grinds dose by dose, often switches beans and wants to grind directly into the portafilter. The low retention makes switching beans easy, and the speed settings give you room to play. We base extraction on weight. For espresso, we grind fine, start at 14.5 g and work our way up, usually to 17 g, at a ratio below 1:2.
You will find the ZP-1 with 64mm flat burrs and the ZP-1 Domus in the WPM Wellhome Pro collection, and all models at a glance in our coffee grinders. Our advice tool helps narrow things down, as does a free consultation appointment in the showroom, by phone or virtually.
Online, Jackson, our AI advisor, helps you choose. In our Espresso Machine and Grinder Comparison, we show you machines and grinders in operation, side by side. WPM is on display in Bern. Not every model is set up at all times, so let us know your preferred model in advance at [email protected].
What goes with it
A grinder goes with an espresso machine. In our coffee machines you will find single boilers, heat exchangers and dual boilers, including La Marzocco with a saturated group. The advice tool shows which machine suits you.
For anyone who wants scales that are affordable and precise: the Normcore collection. If you want an app, flow-rate display and Bluetooth: Acaia.
For puck preparation with tamper, WDT tool, puck screen and dosing funnel: affordable and good from Normcore, with more material effort from Weber Workshops. Nobody needs the more expensive one, you either want it or you don't.

Tip from the roastery: For dense, chocolatey espresso from the KONOS we roast Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. Maximum body without acidity comes from Very Nutty. If you want to discover fruity notes, you will find them in Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
