The manufacturer calls the Chemex with wooden collar the Six Cup Classic CHEMEX, model CM-6A. The carafe is made of borosilicate glass, and the wooden collar with its leather tie serves as a handle. Chemex counts 5 oz per cup, so you brew for up to six of those cups.
It's best to brew by weight, not by time. For filter coffee, a ratio of around 1:16 is a good starting point; after that, your taste decides. Our opinion is one of many.
