The long arm to the steam valve – right side of the LEVA
On the LEVA, steam is controlled by a lever, not by a knob. So that the lever sits at the front of the machine, right where your hand reaches for it, there is an extension between the valve chamber and the operating handle. It transmits every movement – and takes every knock that a milk jug or an elbow deals out during service.
This item is the right-hand version with the part number C.1.344.DX. The left-hand one has the number C.1.344.SX and is a separate item.
When it is due
The lever is crooked or no longer reaches its usual end position. It has play that shows not at the valve but in the extension. The mounting is worn out. The extension is bent – after a knock during service, this is the most common case. Or the surface is so damaged that it can no longer be kept clean in a hospitality business.

Important for installation
The extension sits on a steam-carrying fitting inside the machine. Only work on the machine when it is switched off, cooled down and depressurised. After reassembly, check that the valve opens and closes cleanly over the entire lever travel – an incorrectly adjusted extension lets the lever hit the housing before the valve is closed. We deliberately do not provide step-by-step instructions here.
Left and right on the LEVA
The two sides are mirror images and cannot be swapped for each other. The part numbers contain the Italian abbreviation: SX for sinistra, meaning left, and DX for destra, meaning right.
If you are unsure, look at the machine from the front: right is right as you stand in front of it.
Who it is for
For businesses with a LEVA where a steam lever has developed play after years of use or is bent, and for workshops working with the number C.1.344.DX from service documentation.
What goes with it
On the same assembly you will find the pin for the steam valve chamber, the lever for the valve chamber, right and the steam tap bushing 37 × 45 × 5. Everything else for the machine can be found under La Marzocco LEVA spare parts and in the Original spare parts section.
From our workshop
In Bern and Zurich, we do not straighten a bent lever extension, we replace it – material that has been straightened once gives way again at the same spot, and on a steam lever you only notice when your hand slips with a full jug. That is our routine, not a manufacturer requirement. Until everything is up and running again, there is usually a cup: Nutty Delight, Cozy Chocolate or Very Nutty. More under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold after installation or a test fitting on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
What does DX in the number mean?
DX stands for destra, Italian for right. SX stands for sinistra, meaning left. The two versions are mirror images and cannot be swapped for each other.
Why is there no picture for this item?
We have no product photo for this item. We would rather show no picture than a wrong one. Write to us if you need a photo before ordering – we are happy to send you one from the workshop.
Is the lever itself included?
No. What you receive is the extension. The lever, pin and valve are separate items.
What material is it made of and how long is it?
We have no information on this, and we are not going to make any up. What you can rely on is the number C.1.344.DX and the side.
Can I see the part in your shop?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
