Rocket Bicocca – Dual Boiler Espresso Machine
Your hand rests on the group head, a tap on the touch display, and the programmed shot begins. Two separate, insulated stainless-steel boilers hold brew and steam temperature stable independently, the brew group itself is electrically heated with its own PID control – the Bicocca is Rocket's handcrafted dual boiler, available in chrome and black.
Coffee Coaching Club is a partner of Rocket Espresso in Switzerland. A private barista course can be booked separately.

Dual Boiler, Insulated
Separate, insulated boilers for brewing (0.5 l) and steaming (1.5 l) – stable temperatures and steam on demand, even through many milk drinks in a row.
Electrically Heated Group with Its Own PID Control
The brew group is electrically heated and has its own PID control, in addition to the brew boiler. That keeps the temperature at the group calm through the whole extraction. Over 800 aroma compounds sit inside every espresso – temperature is a major factor in which ones are released.
Touch Display on the Group Head
A 3.5-inch touchscreen with a new interface right on the group head – you program volumetric recipes yourself, set pre-infusion and extraction time freely, plus a calendar timer for automatic on/off. Everything in view, right where you work.
Rotary Pump, Tank or Plumbed-In
Quiet operation via the rotary pump, with either a 1.8-litre tank including a reserve sensor or a direct water connection.

Who It's For
For everyone who wants separate insulated boilers, a dedicated electrically heated group, and control right on the group head. A dual boiler like this doesn't make measurably better espresso for the vast majority than a good heat exchanger machine – but it gives you control, steam reserve, and a presence on the counter. Either you want it, or you don't. Both are legitimate, and our opinion on it is one of many.
What Goes With It
A grinder that can keep up: from the Eureka grinders or the Weber Workshops grinders for anyone who wants the maximum; affordable and precise via the Varia Collection. Tampers and distributors in the Tamper Collection, scales compact and reliable at Normcore or with an app and flow-rate display at Acaia. To help you decide, check out our Machine Comparison.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the Bicocca's brew group special?
It's electrically heated and has its own PID control, independent of the brew boiler. That keeps the temperature at the group calm through the whole extraction.
How long does it take to heat up?
Around 8 to 10 minutes to brew temperature, according to the manufacturer.
Do I need the water tank, or does a direct connection work too?
Both work. The Bicocca runs on either the 1.8-litre tank with a reserve sensor or a direct water connection.
Can I make several milk drinks in a row without waiting for steam?
Yes. The steam boiler is separate from the brew boiler, so steam is available independently – even through several drinks in a row.
Can I see the machine before buying it?
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich. For this machine, we recommend picking it up in person; financing via Heylight is possible.
Roastery Tip
The Bicocca's PID-controlled group keeps the temperature calm – that makes delicate aromas accessible. Our Cozy Chocolate turns dense and chocolatey; anyone looking for complexity discovers the Nutty Delight. That's our recommendation, one among many.
