The Airscape Kilo is the largest version of the Airscape canister by Planetary Design. Its patented inner lid pushes the air out of the container and keeps beans, ground coffee, tea and other dry goods fresh for longer.
Features of the Airscape Kilo
Patented inner lid
The inner lid is pressed down onto the beans and pushes the air out of the container. Less oxygen means the coffee oils age more slowly and the aroma lasts longer. Above it sits the smoke-coloured plastic outer lid with gasket.
Steel with a matte finish
According to Planetary Design, the container is made of galvanised steel with a food-safe matte painted finish. It is lightproof and BPA-free. Available from us in Silver, Matte Black and White.
Why less air matters
According to Planetary Design, oxygen is the main reason coffee loses its aroma. The Kilo holds up to 2.5 lb of whole beans, around 1 kg, which suits anyone who buys larger amounts at once. Our opinion is one of many: what stays fresh longest is coffee that is freshly roasted and ground just before brewing.
