Three portafilters locked in, three shots pulling at the same moment, while the next order is already waiting at the counter – in a busy café, that's the everyday reality, not the exception. The Linea PB X in its 3-group version is built for exactly this rhythm: three stations running independently, none waiting on another.
At Coffee Coaching Club, we are both a partner of La Marzocco and a coffee roastery – we support with configuration, installation, training, and service.
The X generation brings multi-boiler technology with independent saturated groups per station, insulated cool-touch steam wands that stay cool to the touch, and improved cup-warming zones. In our observation, saturated groups hold temperature more stable throughout the day than an E61 system – others in the industry see it differently, our opinion is just one of many. With three groups in continuous use, this becomes especially noticeable: each group has its own coffee boiler and stays at temperature independently of the other two, even when all three are running at once. AV stands for Auto-Volumetric: dose volumes are programmable per group, and the shot stops automatically at the set amount – unlike the ABR version with integrated scales, AV dosing runs purely volumetrically. The machine is also available with tall feet.

The 3-group Linea PB X is built for businesses with very high throughput – for cafés where several shots run at once and the counter is staffed continuously. At 95 cm wide and 77 kg, it takes noticeably more counter space than the 2-group Linea PB X at 71 cm and 61 kg, but in return the third group gives you real parallel work, especially during rush hours. The steam boiler is larger too, at 11 instead of 7 litres – practical for businesses steaming milk continuously. For businesses with steady but not continuous throughput, the 2-group version is often enough. Which of the two fits your business is a question of day-to-day life on site – our take on it is one of many.
The machine arrives from the factory without a plug. For professional commissioning on site, we recommend the installation package and the limescale protection filter installation – both are added to your cart automatically as soon as you add the machine. With every new coffee machine from CHF 1'500, a private barista introduction course of around 60 minutes is included – in Bern, Zurich or online, for up to two people from the same household or company attending together. The course must take place within one month of delivery; after that, the entitlement expires.
For a three-group café setup, you need a grinder that keeps pace: from the Mahlkönig E65S for solid everyday use to the Mahlkönig E80 Supreme for the highest throughput, you'll find both in the Mahlkönig range. For keeping machine and grinder in shape, there are matching products under Machine and Grinder Cleaning. If you're still weighing which group count fits your business, you'll find guidance in the espresso machine comparison, or directly in the La Marzocco Collection, where the 2-group Linea PB X sits alongside it for comparison.
The 3-group version is 95 cm wide and weighs 77 kg, the 2-group version 71 cm and 61 kg. The steam boiler holds 11 litres instead of 7, and there's a third independent group for real parallel work at very high throughput.
For cafés with very high throughput, where several shots need to run at the same time. Three independent groups allow parallel work at the counter, even during rush hours.
The X generation brings multi-boiler technology with independent groups, cool-touch steam wands, improved cup-warming zones, and a design with white elements instead of red.
Auto-Volumetric: dose volumes are programmable per group, and the shot stops automatically at the set amount. Unlike the ABR version with integrated scales, AV dosing runs purely volumetrically.
The machine comes without a plug. The installation package and limescale protection filter are recommended and automatically added to your cart.
Yes, in our showrooms in Bern and Zurich you can see the Linea PB X for yourself, the 3-group version depending on availability on site.
With three groups in continuous use, consistency is everything – in the water, the grind, and the bean. As a roastery, we supply cafés with freshly roasted beans and tailor a profile to your business: for most people, we recommend dense, aromatic roasts like Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. If you want maximum body without any acidity, Very Nutty delivers that. And for anyone curious about a fruit-forward experience, Wild Peach is a discovery worth making. That's our recommendation, one of many.
