Hario MUGEN x SWITCH Dripper – One Pour, Two Methods
A single, calm pour – the water distributes itself over the straight ribs, the bed remains even, and with the switch, you decide whether the coffee steeps or drains immediately.
The MUGEN x SWITCH combines two ideas: The MUGEN dripper is made for the one-pour method – you pour all at once, without multiple phases. The straight ribs and flat inner shape distribute the water evenly and reduce channeling. The Switch base adds immersion to this: a steel ball retains the water, and the lever releases it. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
How it works
In pour-over mode, you pour once, and the water flows through in a controlled manner – uncomplicated and highly repeatable. In immersion mode, the ball retains the water, the coffee steeps, and at the push of a button, the cup drains. This way, you get clear and dense cups from the same dripper.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the one-pour method mean with the MUGEN?
You pour all the water at once, instead of in multiple phases. The straight ribs distribute it evenly and reduce channeling – making the brewing process uncomplicated.
What is the purpose of the Switch function?
The steel ball retains the water, allowing the coffee to steep. At the push of a button, it drains – so you can brew either as a pour-over or as an immersion.
Which filter paper fits?
Hario V60 filter paper in size 02, white or natural.
Can I see it before buying?
Gladly. In Bern and Zurich Oerlikon, you can experience the MUGEN x SWITCH live.
Roastery Tip
In one-pour mode, the cup remains light and clear – ideal for a fruity profile like Wild Peach. With the Switch function and longer steeping time, more body emerges, lovely with Nutty Delight. This is our recommendation, one of many.
