Hario
Buy HARIO Switzerland – Japanese Pour-Over Culture since 1921
HARIO is a Japanese glass manufacturer founded in Tokyo in 1921. The name translates to "Glass King" – the company began as a manufacturer of heat-resistant borosilicate glass for laboratories and industry. Over decades, HARIO has shaped pour-over culture and created a global filter coffee standard with the V60 Dripper (introduced in 2004). Coffee Coaching Club carries the most important HARIO lines for pour-over, cold brew, siphon, and tea.
What makes HARIO unmistakable
Three characteristics define the brand. First, borosilicate glass: HARIO produces high-quality heat-resistant glass – V60 glass models, cold brew pots, siphon components. Second, the pour-over tradition: the V60 redefined the filter coffee movement – with its characteristic 60-degree spiral and large center hole opening, it allows for full control over flow rate and extraction. Third, the product breadth: HARIO covers almost every alternative brewing method – pour-over, cold brew, siphon, filter coffee machines, kettles, scales, tea tools.

Frequently Asked Questions
V60 in which material?
Ceramic: best heat retention, classic, heavy. Glass: visually appealing, heat-resistant, transparent. Plastic: light, travel-friendly, inexpensive. Metal (copper, stainless steel): elegant, premium look. Extraction is comparable with all four – preheating the materials makes the subtle difference.
V60 or V60 SWITCH?
Classic V60: continuous pour-over, full manual control, clear aroma separation. V60 SWITCH: Hybrid with immersion phase, slightly fuller body, more forgiving. Both are valid.
Which grind size for V60?
Medium-fine – approximately between espresso and filter. With Comandante C40: typically 18–23 clicks. Adjust according to brew time: too fast = grind finer, too slow = grind coarser.
What water temperature for V60?
92–96 °C for classic and medium roasts. For particularly light roasts, you can go up to 96–98 °C. Let fresh water rest for 30 seconds after boiling.
Can I see HARIO live before buying?
Yes – subject to availability in the showrooms in Bern and Zurich Oerlikon.
How long does delivery take?
2–4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein. Click and Collect Bern and Zurich Oerlikon. Free shipping from CHF 60.
Roastery Tip
For pour-over on the V60 02, we recommend our light specialty roasts: 15 g Wild Peach or Bright Cassis with 250 ml water, 95 °C, 30-second bloom with 40 ml water, then the rest in two to three pours. Total brew time 3:30–4:00. The V60 spiral and large center opening bring out the peach or cassis unfiltered into the cup.
