HARIO is a Japanese glassmaker founded in Tokyo in 1921. The name translates as "Glass King" – the company started out making heat-resistant borosilicate glass for laboratories and industry. Over the decades, HARIO helped shape pour-over culture and, with the V60 dripper (introduced in 2004), created a filter coffee standard used worldwide. Coffee Coaching Club carries the key HARIO lines for pour-over, cold brew, siphon and tea.
Three qualities define the brand. First, the borosilicate glass: HARIO produces high-quality heat-resistant glass – V60 glass models, cold brew carafes, siphon components. Second, the pour-over tradition: the V60 redefined the filter coffee movement – with its characteristic 60-degree spiral ribs and large centre hole, it gives full control over flow rate and extraction. Third, the range: HARIO covers almost every alternative brewing method – pour-over, cold brew, siphon, filter coffee machines, kettles, scales, tea tools.
The iconic filter coffee method from Japan. V60 in glass, ceramic, plastic, metal, wooden stand – sizes 01 (1–2 cups) and 02 (2–4 cups). For maximum aroma clarity with specialty roasts like our Wild Peach or Bright Cassis.
V60 SWITCH with a built-in valve – you can let water sit in the dripper (immersion phase) and release it whenever you like (pour-over phase). A hybrid brewing method that has grown strongly since 2021.
Automatic V60 filter coffee machines – pour-over workflow without manual handling. For office, family or multi-cup setups.
The iconic cold brew carafe with a stainless steel filter insert. Add coffee, pour in cold water, let it steep in the fridge for 8–12 hours, then decant through the filter. A gentle summer coffee, low in acidity.
A classic gooseneck kettle for precise pour-over. Models for stovetop or with an electric heating base. Some with precise temperature control.
HARIO is the Japanese standard for siphon brewing – visual theatre with vacuum brewing. For a café showcase or an enjoyable ritual at home.
A scale built specifically for pour-over, with an integrated timer and automatic detection of when brewing starts. For V60 workflows without drift in the ratio.
Teapots made of borosilicate glass with an integrated stainless steel filter insert. For green tea, white tea, oolong and black tea.

Home baristas and cafés building a full pour-over and filter setup – with classic Japanese manufacturing quality. Specialty coffee enthusiasts looking for maximum aroma clarity in light roasts. Tea lovers who want to brew loose leaf tea properly. Anyone who values borosilicate glass as a high-quality, heat-resistant and visually appealing material.
For alternative pour-over drippers: Chemex, Weber Workshops BIRD. For AeroPress: AeroPress collection. For hand grinders: Comandante, Timemore, 1Zpresso. For precise kettles with temperature control: Brewista Artisan, Varia AURA. For premium scales: Acaia Pearl. For beans from our own roastery: CCC in-house roasts with Wild Peach and Bright Cassis as light specialty filter profiles, Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight for a classic filter workflow.
Ceramic: best heat retention, classic, heavy. Glass: visually striking, heat-resistant, transparent. Plastic: light, travel-friendly, affordable. Metal (copper, stainless steel): elegant, premium look. Extraction is comparable across all four – pre-heating the material makes the subtle difference.
Classic V60: continuous pour-over, full manual control, clean aroma separation. V60 SWITCH: hybrid with an immersion phase, a bit more body, more forgiving. Both are valid choices.
Medium-fine – roughly between espresso and filter. With the Comandante C40: typically 18–23 clicks. Adjust by brew time: too fast = grind finer, too slow = grind coarser.
92–96 °C for classic and medium roasts. For particularly light roasts, you can go up to 96–98 °C. Let freshly boiled water rest for 30 seconds.

For pour-over on the V60 02, we recommend our light specialty roasts: 15 g Wild Peach or Bright Cassis to 250 ml water, 95 °C, a 30-second bloom with 40 ml water, then the rest in two to three pours. Total brew time 3:30–4:00. The V60 spiral ribs and large centre opening carry the peach or cassis notes straight into the cup.
