HARIO Filter-in Coffee Bottle – cold brew overnight in the fridge
Add ground coffee in the evening, pour water in slowly, put the bottle in the fridge – and the next morning a smooth, aromatic cold brew is waiting for you. No effort, no standing over a hot stove, just a drink that makes itself overnight.
The HARIO Filter-in Coffee Bottle keeps that beautifully simple. The removable filter sits inside the slim wine-bottle-shaped glass carafe, which fits most fridge doors and doubles as a serving carafe. You pick your colour – Black, Brown, Light brown or Pale Grey – and get the same bottle either way.
How your cold brew turns out well
Put coarsely ground coffee into the filter, set it on the bottle and pour water in slowly. Then put the bottle in the fridge and let the cold brew steep in peace. Around eight hours is our rule of thumb from behind the counter, not a lab figure – set it up in the evening and it is ready in the morning. Because extraction is cold and slow, the result is soft and round, with gentle sweetness instead of sharpness.
The four colours
All four versions are the same bottle: same dimensions, same materials, same price. You only decide what looks better in your fridge and on your table.
-
Black – dark spout and stopper, calm and understated.
-
Brown – a warm, deep brown.
-
Light brown – the lighter, creamier brown.
-
Pale Grey – a soft grey. We keep HARIO's original name so reordering stays unambiguous.

Who it is for
For anyone who likes their coffee cold in summer, or who is simply looking for an uncomplicated way to brew at home. No setup is too modest for it – all you need is ground coffee, water and a little time in the fridge. And because the bottle doubles as a carafe, it goes straight from the fridge to the table.
What goes with it
Cold brew wants a coarse grind – you will find suitable grinders in our coffee grinder selection and more brewing gear in the filter and French press selection. More from the brand sits in the HARIO collection, related bottles in the cold brew collection. The filter in this bottle is made for coffee; for cold-brewed tea HARIO has its own Filter-in Bottles for tea. And the beans to go with it are in our coffee beans.
A tip from our roastery
Cold brew shows its soft, sweet side – which suits full-bodied, chocolatey and nutty roasts particularly well: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight bring round sweetness and depth. If you want maximum body without any acidity, stay with Very Nutty. And for a lively, fruity version, Wild Peach is worth a try. That is our recommendation, one of many.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the four colours?
Only the colour of lid, spout and strainer. Dimensions, materials, volume and price are identical for Black, Brown, Light brown and Pale Grey.
How long does the cold brew need to steep?
About eight hours in the fridge – that is our rule of thumb from practice. It is handy to set the bottle up in the evening and enjoy the finished cold brew in the morning.
How much coffee does one bottle make?
The finished volume is 650 ml, which is roughly five cups.
Is it dishwasher safe?
HARIO states that the parts are dishwasher safe. In our experience behind the counter, the silicone parts and the strainer stay nicer for longer if you wash them by hand – that is a recommendation, not a rule.
Can I cold brew tea in it as well?
The filter in this bottle is made for coffee. For cold-brewed tea, HARIO offers its own Filter-in Bottles with a finer strainer – you will find those in our tea section.
How quickly is the bottle delivered?
Available to order online, delivered throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein in 2–4 working days. Click & Collect in Bern and Zürich Oerlikon is possible.
