Hario Water Dripper Clear WDC-6 – Cold Drip, Drop by Drop
A drop breaks free from the valve, falls onto the coffee bed, and for hours cold water seeps slowly down through the glass – what's left at the end is a clear, sweet concentrate that comes with almost no bitterness.
The Water Dripper Clear is a glass cold-drip tower: a method where cold water runs drop by drop through ground coffee. We carry Hario at Coffee Coaching Club.
How cold drip tastes – and why
Because no hot water is involved, hardly any bitter oils or harsh compounds dissolve. What remains is a smooth, mildly sweet concentrate with delicate aromas and very low acidity – neat over ice or diluted with water. An adjustable metal valve controls the drip speed; the water runs through the coffee bed and a stainless steel filter into the glass carafe below. Depending on drip speed, brewing takes roughly three to five hours.

Who it's for
For everyone who loves cold drip and appreciates brewing as a quiet, visible ritual too – at home or in small-scale hospitality. If you'd rather start more compact, take a look at the Shizuku or the Water Dripper Drop.
What goes with it
For cold drip you grind on the coarser side – a grinder from the hand grinders or the electric coffee grinders. A scale from the Normcore series helps with dosing – spare parts and accessories are in the Hario Collection. Chocolatey, nutty beans like Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight pair especially well, and it turns fruity with Wild Peach.
Frequently asked questions
How long does one run take?
Depending on the drip speed you set, roughly three to five hours. Dripped slower, the concentrate turns out more intense.
How do you drink the result?
The result is a concentrate: neat over ice, diluted with cold water or milk, or kept in the fridge for the next few days.
What grind size works best?
A rather coarse grind, similar to French press. This way the water flows through evenly and the concentrate stays clear.
Are filters included?
Yes, a stainless steel metal filter along with 50 paper filters and a measuring spoon are included.
Can I see it before I buy?
Of course. In Bern and Zürich Oerlikon you can experience the Water Dripper live.
Roastery tip
Cold drip rewards sweet, round beans – the chocolate and nut notes of Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight come through especially dense in the cold concentrate. If you like it vibrant and fruity, try Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
