Why an alkaline formula — and why it's important for plant-based milk

Many classic milk system cleaners are acid-based. Acids can be a problem with plant-based milks: plant proteins and fibers can curdle in an acidic environment and clog milk lines. An alkaline formula works on a different chemical level and dissolves proteins without curdling them.

What the formula dissolves

Application: Auto-Frother

1. Mix 30 ml of BioCaf Alkaline Milk Cleaner with 500 ml of cold water in a container
2. Immerse the suction tube of the auto-frother into the solution
3. Start the cleaning or frothing cycle and pump the entire solution through the system
4. Then rinse with clear cold water until the system is residue-free

Application: Steam wand and milk pitcher (Soak)
