Profitec GO 2.0 – compact single boiler with ring brew group
Buy the Profitec GO 2.0 in Switzerland: compact single boiler with ring brew group, PID, OLED display and modular portafilter, in five colours. Showrooms in Bern and Zurich.
The GO 2.0 is the revised version of the Profitec GO. One boiler supplies both espresso and steam, the OLED display now sits in the upper front section, and there are LED-illuminated brew buttons, a hot water function and a modular portafilter. Profitec is based in Bammental near Heidelberg; according to Profitec, the GO is handmade in its own manufactory in Milan.
Features of the GO 2.0
1, 2, 3 … GO: Fast Heat-Up
In Fast Heat-Up mode, the GO 2.0 is ready to brew after around 7 minutes, according to Profitec. The PID controller then keeps the set temperature constant.
Press & GO: illuminated brew buttons
Two LED-illuminated brew buttons with integrated shot timer. The brew duration can be programmed via the menu.
Hot water via the steam wand
The GO 2.0 also dispenses hot water through the steam wand, for an Americano or tea, for example. Steam and hot water are drawn via a rotary valve.
Never lose Control: OLED display
You control and read all functions on the OLED display: shot time in seconds, programmable on and off times, ECO mode and the optional pre-infusion. Key settings can also be reached via shortcuts.
Care and maintenance
Automatic group cleaning, a guided descaling programme and automatic shut-off when the water tank is empty. If the machine detects a low water level, it reports this without interrupting the shot in progress.
Modular portafilter with silicone spouts
The portafilter can be used bottomless or with a single or double silicone spout. The silicone spout is reduced in height and creates more space between portafilter and cup, including room for a scale.
The details in everyday use
Ring brew group
The GO 2.0 works with a ring brew group and an insulated 0.3-litre boiler. Brew temperature is 92 °C by default and adjustable via the menu.
Pressure gauge and expansion valve
The pump pressure gauge shows the pressure during the shot. The brew pressure can be adjusted via the expansion valve.
From steam back to espresso
For milk foam, the GO 2.0 raises the boiler temperature, to 128 °C by default, adjustable between 115 and 134 °C. At the press of a button it switches back to espresso mode: cold water is pumped into the boiler, «Flush» appears on the display, and water runs through the brew group until espresso temperature is reached again.
Pre-infusion
The optional pre-infusion wets the coffee grounds before extraction. The pump first builds pressure for a set time and then pauses before extraction starts at 9 bar. The active and passive phases can be set separately.
ECO mode and timer
ECO mode switches off the heating after a countdown, 30 minutes by default, adjustable in 30-minute steps up to 600 minutes or off. On and off times can be programmed.
Water filter in the tank
The 2.8-litre water tank holds an adapter for a water filter cartridge, and one cartridge is included. A filter change reminder can be activated to match your water hardness. The tank lid is removable.
Drip tray and cup tray
Drip tray with grid at the front, cup tray on top. The blind basket has its own holder in the drip tray.

The GO 2.0 is available in Black, Yellow, Red, Light Blue and Satin. Technically, all colours are identical. You can find all Profitec machines in the Profitec collection, and further models under espresso machines.
Who the GO 2.0 is made for
For anyone who wants a portafilter machine with PID, display and hot water in a small space. As a single boiler, it brews espresso and steams one after the other, which works well for one or two milk drinks in a row. A single boiler is not only for espresso drinkers: switching to steam takes a little time, and milk drinks are very doable. Our deep dive into heating systems explains how single boilers, heat exchangers and dual boilers differ.
Not sure which machine suits you? The advice tool narrows down the choice, and a free advice appointment is available in the showroom, by phone or virtually. If you want to test several machines and grinders side by side, you can book the comparison workshop in Bern or Zurich, an option, not a requirement. Please send your preferred model in advance to [email protected].
What goes with it
For anyone who wants an affordable and precise grinder: the Varia VS3 from the Varia collection, or by hand the Comandante C40 from the Comandante collection. If you want more: the Varia VS6, the Weber Workshops EG-1 from the Weber Workshops collection or the Lagom grinders from Option-O. All models under coffee grinders.
A tamper is included. For anyone who wants an affordable, precise second tamper or a scale: the Spring-Loaded Tamper and the scales from the Normcore collection. If you want more: the Weber Workshops tamper or a scale with app and flow rate display from the Acaia collection. Thanks to the reduced-height silicone spout, a scale fits under the portafilter.

Tip from the roastery: For espresso from the GO 2.0, we like to roast dense and full-bodied: Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight for chocolate and nut, Very Nutty for maximum body without acidity. If you want to discover fruit, you will find it in Wild Peach. We start at 1:2 by weight and adjust from there. This is our recommendation, one of many.
