Normcore E61 Brew Control Lever Knob (Walnut, M8)

Warm, dark-grained walnut wood under your fingers instead of smooth plastic – you flip the brew lever and feel the valve's resistance more clearly. A small change of grip that makes brewing feel a bit more deliberate.

A replacement walnut knob for the brew lever or steam valve of E61 machines with M8 thread.

    What Makes This Knob Special

The knob replaces the stock grip on the brew lever or steam valve of your E61 machine. Walnut is hard enough for daily use, feels warm in the hand and develops its own patina over time. Especially on machines with Flow Control, a knob with good haptics gives more tactile feedback: the finer you regulate the flow, the more deliberately you guide the movement. That's just our view, one of many.

The internal thread is M8 and sits 32 mm deep for a solid hold. The knob measures 53 mm in length and 28 mm in diameter and is ergonomically rounded. Important before buying: check whether your lever has an M8 thread – not all E61 machines use the same standard, some use M10 or M12.

    Who It's Made For

For anyone with an E61 machine who wants to give the brew lever or steam valve a warmer wooden knob – provided the thread is M8. Every coffee path is welcome here.

    Pairs Well With

The knob fits many E61 machines from our collections of ECM, Profitec and Rocket – check the thread. More tools in the same minimalist style are in the Normcore Collection.

For gram-precise dosing, there are also scales at Normcore or with an app in the Acaia Collection; grinders in the Coffee Grinders Collection.

Frequently Asked Questions About the E61 Lever Knob

How do I find out if my machine has an M8 thread?

Measure the diameter of the threaded stud on your existing knob: M8 corresponds to 8 mm. Most E61 brew levers use M8, but not all.

Does the knob also fit steam and hot water valves?

Yes, as long as the valve has an M8 thread. Many E61 machines use the same thread for the brew lever and steam valve – check both anyway.

    Is walnut wood moisture-resistant enough?

Walnut is a hard, dense wood with natural moisture resistance and develops a patina over time. Don't put it in the dishwasher – hand washing with a damp cloth is enough.

Which machines does the knob fit?

On E61 machines with M8 thread, such as many models from ECM, Profitec, Rocket, Bezzera, Lelit and Quickmill. If in doubt, check the thread or write to us at [email protected].

Can I see the product before buying?

Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.

    Roastery Tip

Nice haptics round out the ritual, the bean makes the taste. For a dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That's our recommendation, one of many, and whichever bean tastes good to you is the right one.
