Profitec wooden handle for the knock drawer – walnut or olive wood
Warm wood instead of cool metal under your fingers, every time the drawer opens.
It's a small movement you make several times a day: drawer open, knock out the puck, drawer closed. How the handle feels in that moment shapes the pleasure at your counter more than the size of the part would suggest.
Two woods, two characters
Walnut is dark with a calm figure and an even grain that sits well alongside stainless steel and black. Olive wood is lighter and much livelier – every growth phase of the tree is visible in it. Because both are natural materials, no two pieces are alike; the picture shows one example, not exactly yours.
Both handles are 153 mm long and screw onto the front via an M5 thread. They are specified for the Profitec Inox knock drawer.
Why material makes a difference
Vessel, colour and material measurably change perception – that applies to the cup just as much as to everything around it. Wood takes on the temperature of your hand, metal gives it off. On top of that, dopamine is released while you're still anticipating: the seconds before the espresso are part of the experience, and a counter you enjoy working at makes those seconds better.
Nobody needs a wooden handle on their knock drawer. You want one – or you don't. It's an emotional decision, and we respect it either way. Our opinion is one of many.

Who it's for
For everyone with a Profitec Inox knock drawer who wants to change the handle – because wood suits the kitchen better, because the existing handle needs replacing, or simply because it brings joy.
And for everyone who sees their coffee corner as a whole: machine, grinder, drawer, tools. A walnut or olive wood handle isn't a big change, but it's one you hold in your hand every day. No budget is just a beginning here: the same applies to small accessories as to the machine next to them – you want it, or you don't.
What goes well with it
If it's the drawer itself that's due, you'll find it in our selection of knock boxes and knock-out containers. The matching machines are in the Profitec collection.
As always, the same goes for the tools alongside: there's something good at every price point. Among our tampers, the Spring-Loaded Tamper from Normcore is there for anyone who wants consistent pressure at an affordable price, and the Weber Workshops tamper for anyone who wants more. The same with coffee scales: compact and reliable from Normcore, with app and flow-rate display from Acaia.
Frequently asked questions
Will the handle fit my knock drawer?
The handles are specified for the Profitec Inox knock drawer: length 153 mm, M5 thread. If in doubt, measure the distance between the two screw points on your drawer or send us the item number – we'll check it before shipping.
What's the difference between walnut and olive wood?
Walnut is darker with a calmer grain; olive wood is lighter with a livelier figure. Both are natural materials, so every piece looks a little different from the one in the picture. Which one suits you is purely a matter of taste – our opinion is one of many.
How is the handle fitted?
It screws onto the front of the drawer via the M5 thread. You unscrew the existing handle and fit the new one in the same place.
Is the knock drawer included?
No, this is just the handle. You'll find the drawers and knock boxes themselves in our knock box collection.
Does the handle also fit the current matte black Profitec knock drawer?
The current matte black knock drawer from Profitec comes from the factory with one walnut handle and a second one in black. Our handles are specified for the Inox knock drawer. Send us the item number of your drawer and we'll check the fit in advance.
Can I see the product before buying?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there. If you order online, delivery takes 2 to 4 working days throughout Switzerland and to Liechtenstein.
From the roastery
Before anything lands in the drawer, it starts with the cup – and for that we recommend dense, aromatic roasts. Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight are our main recommendation: full-bodied, round, with caramel, chocolate and nut. If you're after maximum body with no acidity at all, go for Very Nutty; for a fruity experience there's Wild Peach. That's our recommendation, one of many.
