Timemore Millab M01 – Hand Grinder with 44 mm Pineapple Burr
Heavy and cool in your hand, the adjustment dial turns silky like the focus ring of a lens. A firm, quiet resistance as you crank, and the grounds fall evenly into the cup.
The M01 is the joint development of Millab and Timemore – a hand grinder that puts technology and feel front and center, covering everything from espresso to French Press. Coffee Coaching Club carries Timemore in Switzerland.
The Pineapple Burr
At its center sits a 44 millimeter conical burr made from SUS420 stainless steel with the characteristic Pineapple geometry. The idea behind it: bring the evenness of a flat burr into a cone. The extended grind path – comparable to a 64 millimeter flat – creates a very narrow particle distribution with little fines, all while cranking stays pleasantly light. The result is clear, clean cups from espresso to filter.
Adjustment like a camera lens
Grind size is set via an external, numbered adjustment dial that works like the focus ring of a camera – 100 clicks of 0.0125 millimeters each, so you can see exactly where you are and find a recipe again any time. The burr gap starts at 0.0725 millimeters, the finest value of any Timemore hand grinder so far. P7-grade bearings with a radial runout of under 3 micrometers keep the motion buttery smooth and even.
Materials and handling
The aluminum housing with a matte textured surface feels grippy and substantial in the hand; at around 1.1 kilograms, the grinder sits with real heft. The catch cup holds around 50 grams and clicks into place via a threadless snap coupling – quick access, easy cleaning. A rubber base keeps it in place while grinding.

Roastery tip
With the M01, a chocolatey, nutty profile unfolds real depth – try Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight, 1:2 as a starting point for espresso. Thanks to its fine grind profile, it's also a pleasure with light, fruity beans like Wild Peach in Pour-Over. That's our recommendation, one of many.
