The lid that keeps the beans fresh and the dust out
A bean hopper without an intact lid is open to everything that flies around a bar: milk mist, cleaning dust, flies in summer. And the beans lose their aroma faster because air and light get in unhindered.
This lid comes in two pieces and carries the part number F.1.177. Both pieces are included. It is a typical part that falls down or breaks at some point – and should then be replaced quickly.
When it is due
A lid will not announce itself. Replace it if you notice any of the following:
- Cracks or a break, so that it no longer sits properly.
- It no longer closes flush, and beans jump out when you fill the hopper.
- The plastic is cloudy and scratched, and you can no longer see the fill level.
- Deformation from heat, for example because it was lying on the cup warmer.

What goes with it
From our workshop
In our showrooms we clean bean hoppers and lids only dry and at most degrease them with a dry microfibre cloth – water and washing-up liquid leave a film that the next batch of beans absorbs immediately. That is our routine, not a manufacturer's specification. Then we refill with fresh beans, often with Nutty Delight; you can find more beans in our coffee beans.
Returns excluded
Spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured to order and cannot be resold after being installed or test-fitted on the machine. So before ordering, check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.

Are both pieces really included?
Yes. The lid consists of two pieces, and both are included in the delivery.
Will the lid fit my grinder?
We are happy to clarify that in advance. Send us the model and serial number of your grinder and we will check it before you order.
Is the bean hopper included?
No, only the lid is supplied.
Can the lid go in the dishwasher?
We advise against it. Heat warps the plastic, and detergent residues pass on to the beans. Dry cleaning is better.
Can I pick up the part at your showroom?
Yes. We have two showrooms: Bern at Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich at Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Drop us a line with the part you need, and we will have it ready and look at it together on your machine.
