La Marzocco complete bean hopper for the Jay grinder – a clear view of the beans again
The bean hopper is the part of the grinder that takes the most punishment and gets the least respect. It is taken off several times a day, set down on the counter, refilled and put back on. Sooner or later it shows: scratches, a cloudy haze on the outside, a fine crack at the rim.
Yet being see-through is exactly its purpose. A cloudy hopper no longer tells you when it is running low, and a crack at the rim turns into a break the next time it is set down. This replacement is the complete hopper, not just the lid.
When it is due
When the hopper has a crack or a chip, when it is so scratched or faded that you can no longer see the fill level, when it no longer sits properly on the grinder, or when old coffee oil has left a film on it that will not come off. Old coffee oil is rancid, and it passes into every fresh batch.
Complete hopper or just the lid?
Both are available separately. This product is the complete bean hopper with part number 1074. If you only need the lid, go for the lid for the Jay bean hopper.

Who it is for
For cafés where the Jay runs all day and the hopper has suffered accordingly – and for anyone who wants to bring their grinder's looks back to square one without replacing the whole machine.

Not in this series, but along the same path the beans take: the coffee chute of the La Marzocco Jay, through which the ground coffee exits after the burrs, and the 0,2 mm flap for the Jay. Both sit below the burrs and have nothing to do with the bean supply.
What goes with it
This goes together with the bean hopper lid, the coffee chute and the 0,2 mm flap in the coffee path. The grinder itself is the La Marzocco Jay. For cleaning the burrs we use Puly Grind Verde. More under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts.
Tip from our roastery
We wipe out the bean hopper with a dry cloth every time we change beans, not just during the weekly clean. The coffee oil that settles on the wall turns rancid over time and masks the flavour of the next roast. That is our routine in Bern and Zurich, not a manufacturer requirement. Afterwards we like to fill it with Nutty Delight, for chocolatey notes Cozy Chocolate, for body Very Nutty. All roasts under Coffee beans.
No returns
Original spare parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are sourced specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So before ordering, please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine – or drop us a line and we will work out the fit together. Your rights in the event of defective goods remain unaffected.
Frequently asked questions
Is the lid included?
The scope of delivery is the complete bean hopper as per part number 1074. We also carry the lid separately – if you are unsure, drop us a line and we will clarify it before you order.
Does it also fit another La Marzocco grinder?
Our documentation lists it for the Jay. For the Pico, the Swift or another grinder, send us the serial number and we will check.
Can I clean it in the dishwasher?
We advise against it. Heat and detergents make clear plastics dull and brittle – a dry cloth and occasionally lukewarm water are all it needs.
What is the capacity?
We have no verified figure for this, so we are not giving one. Write to us and we will check with the manufacturer.
Can I see the part in a showroom?
Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
