The ejection cone sits where the ground coffee leaves the grinding chamber. Its shape decides whether the grounds fall down in a loose stream or stick to the wall, build up and later slide down as clumps. You rarely see this part, but you notice it every day in how the dose comes out.
If the surface is dull, scratched or chipped, the way the grounds flow changes. Typically the first grams hesitate and then come in a burst, or more residue stays in the chamber after grinding than before. On a grinder that is meant to work gram by gram, this is not a cosmetic flaw but variation in the cup.
Grounds stick to the outlet and drop down with a delay. The cone is scratched, warped or cracked. The surface has become rough after cleaning with hard brushes. Or you are doing the major grinder service and replacing the parts in the discharge path together with the burrs.

The cone sits inside the unit, close to the drive. We do not provide step-by-step instructions for this: the grinder must be disconnected from the mains, and the position of the part affects the dosing. This belongs in the hands of a qualified professional or in our workshop.
For roasteries and cafés with a SWAN whose dosing has become uneven, and for technicians who renew the entire discharge path when changing the burrs.
Grinder parts are listed under Coffee grinder accessories and spare parts, all service parts under Service parts. The matching extruder ring with magnets goes well with it. For cleaning the grinding chamber, we stock products under Machine and grinder cleaning. More La Marzocco parts under La Marzocco accessories and spare parts.
Our routine from Bern and Zurich, explicitly our own and not a manufacturer specification: after every intervention in the discharge path, we grind 100 grams through and weigh five individual doses. Only when the five values are close together do we release the grinder again. For the weighing we deliberately use a coffee we know well, for example Nutty Delight or Cozy Chocolate; for strong milk drinks, Very Nutty. The selection is under Coffee beans.
No returns
Service parts are excluded from exchange and return. They are procured specifically for each order and cannot be resold once they have been installed or test-fitted on a machine. So please check the model, year of manufacture and serial number of your machine before ordering – or send us a short message and we will clarify the fit together. Your rights in the case of defective goods remain unaffected.
No. Only the ejection cone is supplied. Burrs and rings are separate items.
We list part number F.1.178.02 for the SWAN. We say nothing about other grinders that we cannot verify. Send us your model and we will check it.
If the clumps stick to it, yes. If they come from the coffee itself, for example with very fresh or light roasts, the result stays similar.
We recommend a qualified professional, because the part sits inside the unit and affects the dosing. We do not provide installation instructions.
Yes. Bern, Gerberngasse 44 and Zurich, Hagenholzstrasse 50b. Just let us know and it will be ready for you.
