Freshly ground coffee drops into the compact 54 mm group, you level it off and tamp – and as the shot pulls, the espresso runs through calmly and clearly. Inside the basket, many fine, laser-drilled holes do their part.
Nobody needs a new basket. You want one – or you don't. It's a decision born of curiosity, and we respect it either way.
The BEP – Butterfly Effect Power – works with dual-layer filtration: two stacked layers of holes catch fine particles before they reach the cup, for a clearer cup with fewer fines. The finely laser-cut holes, each 0.16 mm, distribute the water evenly across the puck.
The base is reinforced and barely flexes under pressure – that flexing is a common cause of channelling in the coffee bed. Straight walls and a flat bottom help with even tamping. We like to work with a 1:2 ratio and let the weight decide, not the stopwatch. It's our observation that the choice of basket fundamentally changes the aroma profile – that's our view, one of many.

For anyone with a 54 mm group head, as used on many Sage and Breville machines, who likes a clear cup with few fines. Every budget is welcome, and you belong here because you love coffee – not because you use a particular basket.
Even distribution before the shot comes from a WDT tool and a tamper in the matching 54 mm size – affordable and precise from Normcore, with more material ambition from Weber Workshops.
You'll find the right machine in our coffee machine collection and the grinder in our coffee grinder collection. A Puck Screen ensures a clean water inlet. Still choosing? Use our advisory tool.
With machines that have a 54 mm group head, as used on many Sage and Breville models. If in doubt, check the diameter of your current basket.

Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range – the display changes. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit, and we will check whether the product you have in mind is currently there.
A clean basket helps, but the bean makes the flavour. For dense, sweet espresso, we like to reach for Cozy Chocolate and Nutty Delight. If you like it full and round without any acidity, stick with Very Nutty; for a fruity experience, Wild Peach goes into the grinder. That's our recommendation, one of many.
