Acaia Orion Nano – automatic bean doser with Orion's Belt
Turn the dial, choose a target weight, place the cup: the Acaia Orion Nano doses whole beans to within ± 0.25 g and stops by itself. Buy online in Switzerland, see it live in Bern and Zurich.
The Orion Nano doses your beans by weight before they go into the grinder – at 2 g per second, from a 250 g hopper. It inherits much of the design of the larger Acaia Orion on a considerably smaller footprint, and can be linked with further Orion Nanos via Orion's Belt to form a blending station.
Features of the Acaia Orion Nano
Accuracy
The Orion Nano doses to within ± 0.25 g, which corresponds to roughly one to three beans. Acaia designed it for cupping and single dose preparation, with a consistent dose every time.
Footprint
With a base of 163 × 174 mm, the Orion Nano needs considerably less space than the Orion. It fits a coffee bar as well as a home setup.
Orion's Belt
Orion's Belt links several Orion Nanos into a blending station. You put together blends and work with your own ratios and bean combinations.
Technology
The Orion Nano inherits much of the Orion's award-winning design: an automatic mode for continuous dosing and a dial with saved target weights. The dosing system learns and adapts to stay accurate and consistent.

Who the Orion Nano is for
For anyone who wants to dose whole beans to the gram: at the coffee bar, at a cupping in the roastery or at home in front of a single dose grinder. If you put together blends, you use Orion's Belt. If you want to fill cup after cup consistently, you use the automatic mode.
Nobody needs it – a scale and a dosing cup do the same job. The Orion Nano is for those who want the workflow at the dial. Our opinion is one of many.
What goes with it
After dosing comes grinding: among our coffee grinders you will find single dose models, for example from Weber Workshops. Our Acaia collection shows the whole Orion range.
For weighing in the cup: if you want to weigh compactly and affordably, you will find scales in the Normcore collection. If you want an app, flow rate display and Bluetooth, choose an Acaia scale. Our advice tool shows which combination suits your setup.
Frequently asked questions about the Acaia Orion Nano
What does a bean doser like the Acaia Orion Nano do?
It doses your whole coffee beans by weight before they go into the grinder. Instead of weighing by hand before every shot, you choose your target weight on the dial and the Orion Nano fills the cup to within ± 0.25 g.
How does the Orion Nano differ from the Orion Mini?
The Orion Nano is more compact: 163 × 174 × 314 mm and 1370 g, with a 250 g hopper, 500 g maximum capacity, ± 0.25 g accuracy and 2 g/s. The Orion Mini measures 202 × 303 × 352 mm, weighs 2850 g and has a 520 g hopper, 3000 g maximum capacity, ± 0.5 g accuracy and 4 g/s. Only the Orion Nano has Belt mode for linking several units. You will find both in our Acaia collection.
What is Orion's Belt?
A connection function that lets you link several Orion Nanos. This creates a blending station: you set ratios and put together your own blends.
How do I clean the Orion Nano?
Acaia recommends a soft cloth with warm water. Detergents and other chemicals should not be used, as they can damage the anodised surface.
Can I see the Acaia Orion Nano before buying?
That depends on whether the Orion Nano is on display right now. Our showrooms in Bern (Gerberngasse 44) and Zurich Oerlikon (Hagenholzstrasse 50b) show a wide selection, but not our entire range. Drop us a quick line at [email protected] before your visit and we will check whether the Orion Nano is currently there. You can order it online, with delivery in 2–4 working days in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Roastery tip: When we set up doses on the Orion Nano, we usually use beans with body and sweetness: Cozy Chocolate or Nutty Delight. For full body without any acidity: Very Nutty. For a fruity experiment when blending via Orion's Belt: Wild Peach. That is our recommendation, one of many.
