AeroPress Flow Control Filter Cap – filter cap with valve
The water stays in the chamber until you press. Only then does the valve in the Flow Control filter cap open and the coffee flows into the cup.
Without a valve, water drips through the AeroPress while the coffee is still steeping. With the Flow Control filter cap you decide the steep time and set grind size and brew time independently. Pressing builds up pressure. The result is a concentrated, espresso-style coffee, for example as a base for a latte or cappuccino. It is not real espresso, as AeroPress says itself.
